How long have you been running your campaign?

Today, March 26, marks the 2nd anniversary of when my players started their epic journey in D&D 4e! They've grown 10 levels since then, making their first steps into Paragon-tier. We started out in the modern D&D red box, playing traditionally face-to-face until all of us moved to all parts of the country. Since then, we been dedicating one day every week for two years to VTTs, using MapTools and then finding a new, amazing home here at Roll20. This got me wondering about other users. How long have you been running your game? How did it start? Where are you guys now?
Well, I have been playing in a Pathfinder group since just before christmas 2012, running through the Second Darkness adventure path. We just hit level 5 this past sunday, playing every sunday.
We've been playing a game on Saturdays with a few breaks here and there since last September 2012. Next Saturday (Mar 30th) will be our 20th session.
Our core group while having changed the occasional player, has lost only 2 permanently and has been the same since 1990. Our DM and one of our key players started earlier than that, since their high school days in 1980. But the current group is strictly VTT thanks to Roll20. We've played every edition except for 4E, although our DM is now altering that content for our epic level people. But we have a wide range of characters between the 3 main existing players. Our 4th player has only been with us since 2008, and is relearning the ropes so to speak. We play primarily in Greyhawk, the original campaign world created by D&D creator Gary Gygax... which had some 3.5 conversion, but we maintain a lot of the old 1st edition rules for politics and countries. I took a hiatus from the game from 2003 - 2008 by moving to Canada alas, but after discovering Skype, and in this past year Roll20, we have been playing VTT since... Unfortunately our DM just had a new born baby, and is in the process of adjusting him to a new sleep schedule. So we did a mind numbing 2 rounds in 3 hours last week... (8 characters battling an arena of fire giants, ogres, bug bears, demons and elementals) We're giving him till May to get the baby and himself in gear... just kidding. But hopefully some compromise can be adjusted to...
Our group has been running for close to a year (hmm time really flies when you look back on it). We started out face-to-face as well, but two of us moved out of the country, so we have been keeping it going with Roll20, which works incredibly well. The players are becoming more and more versatile and powerfull so the challenges have moved from skill checks to manouvering in a society where making the wrong steps can be fatal (and the occasional combat with a more refined class of enemies). The interesting part is that they are truly unconcerned with the morality of society and have no respect for their GMs campaign ideas, which often means that they will chase out some little-explored tangent of the plot I had envisioned, and has led to truly amazing roleplaying moments (fortunately this suits my style of GMing quite well, as I prefer the turning wheel style campaigns).
I usally GM my group but I'm in professional displacement and I crave to play again with them. So the 6 of March 2013, we start a campaign of The One Ring. They like Roll20 and Google hangout, we play once a week from 21:00 to 24:00 and it's cool. I choose TOR because the game mecanic is superb and simplify a lot GM work. And who doesn't like Tolkien?
