Hello! It's me,  Nerth  the DM. TL;DR: I’m putting together an Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden game weekly on Friday evenings EST (specific time to be determined with everyone playing). Here are the details: Games will be approximately 4 hours long. Character creation and everything leading up to session 1 are all free . Starting session 1, I encourage players to pay what they can . My asking price is $10 per session. I understand that things can be difficult these days, but this money first goes towards more subscriptions and assets to improve our games! Beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. Beyond this yawning fissure, the Caves of Hunger await. And past this icy dungeon is a secret so old and terrifying that few dare speak of it. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter’s wrath has so coldly preserved—as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden’s everlasting night? Requirements & Rules Campaign:  Welcome to Rime of the Frostmaiden , the hardcover D&D adventure that should take us from levels 1st to 12th. Date:  Every Friday evenings. Each session should last approximately four hours. Tech Requirements:  Virtual tabletop and character sheets in Roll20, voice chat over mic in Discord. Characters:  For people new to Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition, I offer free help with the rules during character creation and play, so that you can learn as you go along. For more experienced players, you are creating a 1st-level character with the following rules: 27 point buy for ability scores. Access to all books and Unearthed Arcana. I have the PDFs and am always here to help. Recommended races: goliaths, silver or white dragonborn. Optional rule: character secrets! Ask me for details. No evil alignments. A gentleman's agreement not to steal the spotlight off of other players, or ruin someone else's fun. Price:  Pay what you can via Paypal; suggested amount is $10.  ( This game encourages tipping the Game Master. Please contact before each session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.) What am I paying for? A hardcover published adventure, prepared throughout and adapted to fit your characters, realized immersively with custom tokens, HD art assets, APIs, and a character sheet in Roll20 that I'll update over the course of the campaign so when you sit down to play, you can just play! A more mature and committed group that will be here on time and prepared to play! My collection of roleplaying game knowledge, PDFs, and experience built over a decade with different editions of Dungeons & Dragons, which lends to a smooth and immersive session! Access to the benefits of my paid subscriptions, including Syrinscape for music and sound effects, Roll20 Pro for no ads and APIs, and Inkarnate for unique homebrewed maps when prebuilt ones aren't enough! All this adds together to roughly one to two hours of preparation on my end for each hour of play. I'm happy to run games basically at cost for the subscriptions, which will help me continue to improve the gaming service I can provide. How do I register to play? I am looking for up to four players, although I'm happy to run games starting with three players. Please send me a private message or respond in the Listing Discussion below with the following: Your Name: Campaign Information:  Rime of the Frostmaiden, Friday evenings EDT. Discord ID (Username#0000): Do you have any experience playing Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition?: What are you looking for in a game of Dungeons & Dragons?: Will you experience problems paying $5-$10 USD per session?: If you have a specific character concept in mind (such as a race, class, or even general concept), feel free to include it with your post. If not, that's also okay! I take applications as a first-come, first-served basis, with spots on a waiting list in case a player can't make it to the session.
