Yo. Roleplaying used to be a huge part of my life, I miss the hell out of it, and I really, really want to get back into it on an active basis. I always used to be the one who'd run the games just so I could play, so this time around I'm really wanting to spend some time as a player before I inevitably get sucked back into DMing/STing. I'm open to most White Wolf games and I could definitely be tempted into Call of Cthulhu or All Flesh Must Be Eaten or even BESM... but the ones I'm really wanting to play right now strongly are D&D 5E and WtA . While I do enjoy playing with mechanics and optimization to some extent, I'm ultimately character-focused, so I'm ideally looking for games that include a reasonably significant RP component. That said, I really really want to play, so if a pretty combat/mechanics-focused game has an opening, I'm happy to hop in and enjoy the game from that angle. I'm open to one-shots, but I get attached to my characters - not to the extent that I'll throw a fit if they die, but I tend to find one-shots a bit unsatisfying because if I like a character I want to keep playing them for a while at least. So longer-term games are preferred. I'm generally a calm, easygoing, flexible person when it comes to the gaming table. I'm here to have fun, and what's most important to me is the game - the story if we're RP-focused, winning the encounter otherwise. So while I do have certain character types I lean toward, ultimately, my first question is almost certain to be, "So, what does the party need?" It's very rare that I'll come into a game with a single preconceived idea of what I want to play. Rather, I tend to have dozens of half-formed ideas buzzing around just waiting for a prompt to become fully-fledged characters. My Saturday afternoon/evening is booked, but I'm open any other time, literally. I'm disabled, no fixed schedule, so just tell me when to show up and I'll be there. I'm on Pacific time (GMT -8), but, again, timing isn't a huge issue. I'm down for some late-night gaming if the rest of you are in Europe or Australia or something. Thanks for your time! Looking forward to hearing from y'all. :)
