Something I made for another game, going to make a tank on myth weavers soon n link that too, hopefully you will consider adding me as a tank. Character Name: Ricken Merryfellow Character Age: 63 Character Race: Gnome Character Class: Wizard A brief explanation of your DnD or RP'ing history: Have previously played some Pathfinder with friends, mix of intro. module and a home-brew campaign. Have not previously played a caster but very interested in playing one. Have read a lot of the PF books and use to read DnD books, though I have not played very much. I am much more of a gamer (PC/Console) in experience but would love to get more into tabletops, Pathfinder in particular. Do you have a back-story for them, if so elaborate: Ricken was born very poor in a Dwarven city called Dholbadur and was left on the streets at birth. It is believed his parents were passing traders who could not care for him and left him for dead in an alley. Ricken was found by nearby Dwarven citizens and taken to the nearby orphanage for Gnomes, ran by a Gnome known as Oddlefoot. Most Dwarves in Dholbadur do not care for Gnomes, they are tolerated when they are useful otherwise Gnomes are left to their own wits to thrive. As a result, most Gnomes learned to stay in packs or hold their own when confronted with violence. In his youth, Ricken was always warm and laughing, always doing his best to try to make friends, something he always had difficulty with. To further this goal, he focused his magic skills in the school of Illusion and also chose to shy away from Necromancy and Conjuration. Ricken feared Necromancy would cause even more people to be wary of him and dislike him. Conjuration he found to be quite difficult and often led to disastrous results, while this did often lead to laughter he could not convince himself to try harder with Conjuration in fear he would harm others. While Ricken was able to learn Wizardry and the many facets of Gnomish culture while in Dholbadur he left at an early age to explore and quench his thirst for adventure. He would latch onto whatever interesting group of travelers he could. It is through his early adventures that he earned the surname Merryfellow. The name was granted to him by his comrades due to his merry nature and uplifting antics. How did your character come to be on the island of Kern (born, shipwrecked, extra dimensional vortex, etc)? Ricken’s propensity for traveling with others brought him to the nearby areas surrounding Breezehold. Following an ambush on himself and fellow companions he was left for dead by marauders. He awoke with most of his memory intact, however, he does not recall who attacked him, why he was attacked, or who he was with at the time. The humans who saved him found him near death and stabilized him. Once they were able they carried Ricken back to Hawke and brought him back to health. What drives your character(general idea): His curiosity and need to seek out others. Recently, his need to uplift those who saved him and find those that left him for dead in order to find answers. Medium to long description(what they LOOK like): Short and in shabby exploration clothes (shirt, pants, shoes, pack) with blond hair, and a few small scars on his face. Always smiling and bright eyed, and lean bodied (partly from adventuring partly from forgetting to eat since he is usually finds something more interesting to inquire upon). Medium to long personality(are the a kind pirate, a violent brute?): Jovial and hyper, while Ricken carries some minor scars on his face his endless chatter and high pitch cause others to react to him in a positive manner. He is caring for those of lower standing and cannot stand to see wrong done to those who are oppressed. While he believes in order but he often finds fault in law, in that it usually is made to benefit the rich or those in power. Goal or what drives them: He wants to know what happened to him, especially what was lost (i.e.: loved ones, items of value, etc.) and help those who saved him. Being of poor beginnings himself, Ricken knows he must repay the debt ten fold. In addition, Ricken has an innate desire to travel with others and seek out companions. As many gnomes do, Ricken loves to explore and has a very curious nature, which often leads him to chase after rumors of wondrous and interesting items. Your personal playing strengths (as a player what can I expect from you?): I am pretty thoughtful when it comes to combat and my style of act rather than sitting on my hands plays well with the Gnomish race. I am pretty playful and goofy by nature so that plays into Ricken’s personality as well, feel free to tell me if I use it to a fault though. But most of all I enjoy having fun and hate being bored, so lets do that. Do you have a certain play style that you'd like to describe and if so how would you describe it( you, not your character, do you excel at RP? and such)?: I approach situations slowly at first, stealth, diplomatically, or so forth. But I thoroughly enjoy blasting in headfirst after some initial recon is done. I would love to get more character RP in, really did not have much of that previously but really enjoyed when I did. Kind of felt like I would take charge of my old group and I enjoyed that but would be more fun to be with a group of capable characters. Do you know why would they be adventuring in a company of adventurers?: Innate desire to make friends with everyone, due to the fact he had very few growing up and most of the dwarves around blew off Gnomes in general.
