Handouts Issue

Whenever I open a handout, whether as a DM or player, it only opens once.  I cannot reopen it without refreshing the page, which is a pain.  Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

This is likely a (many times reported) bug introduced in the October release of Chrome. Windows that are popped out and closed cannot be reopened in the same session. The only workaround at this moment is to turn off the popout by default behavior in the settings tab, or switch to Firefox.

keithcurtis - Thank you, but I was not able to find the "popout by default behavior in the settings tab".  Are you referring to the settings tab within the module?  I see a box about windows popouts for characters, but nothing describing "popout by default".  Would like to avoid loading another browser on my Mac if possible.  Thanks!

Ah, you are correct. I wrote in haste. Handouts that are not popped out I do not have trouble re-opening. Ugster, if you are not popping them out manually, and still cannot re-open them, I suggest going through the steps I'll paste below the line. If they don't help, capture a  Console Log ( Chrome ,  Firefox )and file  a  Help Center Request . Could you please carefully work through these steps of our guide to  Solving Technical Issues ? Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome  and  Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable  all  add-ons/extensions. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeeds, please thoroughly work through  Step 4 .  (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) Thank you!

I have the same problem in chrome.  I can open a handout once and then it simply won't open again until I leave the game.

There is a much longer thread here , if any want to add their voice to the issue. Since it has been formally reported since last October, I wouldn't hold my breath, though. There is likely a roadblock-level difficulty to fixing this. I think I will make this my first and only question for the next Round Table.
