Hello! I'm a long time (20+ years) table top nerd - I have a regular game that I run on Sundays and I'm thinking about running another game on Friday evenings EST. It'll usually be bi-weekly though some weeks could be more regular depending on my work/family schedule. This will be a 100% homebrew campaign, you will create a character in a world I've created. I will emphasize this up front - I play D&D for collaborative storytelling. The campaign will have an even blend of combat, rp, and exploration - but you will not enjoy the game as I present it if you don't want to actually tell a story with your character. This means that I'll be expecting players to be able to create scenes with the rest of the party and environment - it doesn't have to be done through roleplay, you can give descriptions, suggestions, etc. but the point is to tell a story, not to just roll through dungeons, level up and get loot. Play a video game for that. Anyway, I've made a good number of maps and stuff and I've got the first 5-6 levels of the campaign more or less solidified. I've run another group through the same main story and I'd like to see how another group handles the same situations. What I'll say about the world is that it is like many other settings for RPGs - there was a great cataclysm wherein the gods left the world, your character's specific knowledge of history will depend on who they are and where they come from. The land in which you'll start is mostly human and in the middle of nationalizing what had previously been independent city-states. Your chosen race will make a difference to your backstory, and I will want to actively discuss character ideas with players. Nothing is really off-limits, but I do want to use character backstories to help drive the main narrative, which will require working together to come up with character motivations and tie-ins to the world. If you're into telling stories together with other people, hit me up on Discord Ajax War-Rocket#3524.
