Emily’s Guide to Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft on Roll20 This book introduces a ton of new exciting features to D&D! You may have some questions about this release, so I’m here to help you out. Q: What if I pre-ordered Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft ? A: As of this post, all pre-orders have been fulfilled! If you pre-ordered this title, the module, compendium expansion, and art pack are now available in your Roll20 collection! Q: How do I access the content on Roll20 once I’ve purchased it? A: Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft includes an adventure module, a compendium expansion, and an art pack. To access the module, click on the Start New Game option from the site menu. The column on the right-hand side of the page is titled Optional: Choose a Module. Clicking on the Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft cover image will select this module as the base for your new game. You can access all of the rules, items, and creatures from Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft in the in-app compendium , as well as on the Roll20 web compendium . And, finally, you can access the Character Art Pack under the Premium Assets section of the Art Library in-app. These assets are only available for in-app use. Q: Is there Charactermancer support? A: Yes! The exciting new lineages - as well as new backgrounds and subclasses - are ready and available to build a brand new character with for all who purchase this product! Q: How do I incorporate lineages into my already existing character? A: Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft introduces lineages for the first time ever in 5E. These are essentially new player races - except that you might discover during play that you belonged to one of these special lineages and unlock its powers far after character creation. Roll20 has included these options as races for use with the Level 1 Charactermancer, meaning you can create a brand new character as any of the new lineages introduced in Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft . We don’t currently offer any automation for unlocking a lineage in play, but we have included detailed instructions in a condensed and ‘all-in-one’ location for players wishing to manually update their existing character to unlock its lineage. Links to this information can be found on the specific lineage pages themselves, and are available on the Lineages page as a ‘Roll20 Note’.  Q: How are the Domains of Dread integrated into the Roll20 build? A: Both the compendium and the corresponding adventure for Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft have each of the included domains on their own page, so you can drag-in or transmog them into your own campaign and have the rules available at your fingertips. If you have any further questions about this release, we’ll do our best to answer them here! One last thing: Roll20 is not responsible for any dark rituals conducted while in Ravenloft. We’ve given you the tools… please use them wisely!

Great stuff. In the Compendium version, there appears to be a page from the introduction to character creation the Eberron sourcebook where the page from this sourcebook should be. Same with the backgrounds page.

Love the book! It looks like there are some pages missing in the Travelers in the Mists section of chapter 3. An earlier section of the chapter refers the reader to find more information about “The Caller” in the Travelers in the Mists section, but no such information is there.

Those are both Handouts in the Module, I bet that's what it's referring to.
The book also has a number of monsters. ... I don't see those mentioned in the first post here.

From this thread : Bradley W.  said: Van Richten's guide to ravenloft has a new monster block for the dullahan which looks really cool. However, I cannot view it on the page because it takes me to the Kobold Press Tome of Beasts version of the monster. I've tried several work arounds: Trying to view it in an active campaign Searching for it by name and clicking on a specific one. This sort of works but I need to click on Dullahan Legends instead of Dullahan Dragging and dropping the token in an active campaign. This only lets me view the KP one Has anyone else had similar issues to this and did anyone have any methods of fixing it? Thank you in advance

Hi -- I picked up my print copy of this book yesterday, and after looking it over I have some questions about the Roll20 version:  1. There aren't stat blocks for any of the NPCs in the book, but they give suggested stats from other books to use (ex. Dr. Mordenheim uses the "Spy" stats etc.). In the Roll20 version, are there tokens for all of the NPC's and Darklords that are linked to those suggested stats so that you can drop them in and use them right away? Or are the tokens just artwork?  2. The book has a new type of simplified character called a "Survivor" (I gather they're kind of like the "Sidekicks" from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything). Does the Roll20 version include a way to make these characters?  Thanks -
I bought the bundle and I can not get it to load in my campaigns like I did for Tasha's as an Add on. It shows up in my collection but not in my compendium. I submitted a Ticket and no response 1 day later.

From the Marketplace description, the adventure is a Module, not an Add On, and must be used as the starting point of a game, not added to an existing one: Module Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft  includes an adventure  module . To create a new game, click on the  Start New Game  option from the site menu. The column on the right-hand side of the page is titled  Optional: Choose a Module . Thank you Keith. I thought some features would be available. I was hoping for a little bit of a Bestiary/ monster character sheets.

They should still be available in your Compendium. If it's in the print book, it's in the digital version.

If you can Use the Transmorgifier then you can set up a seperate game and then just transmorg them over

This may be the Darklord linking to a Spy token that uses the Spy statblock or it may be linking to a special, named, "bespoke" token. In the two cases where there was an option to use either a standard token or the specialized version from Curse of Strahd we chose to use the version from Curse of Strahd. An example for this is that in the journal entry for the Falkovnia domain if you click the link for "Knight" it will take you to the statblock for Vladeska. For your second question the apprentice, disciple, sneak, and squire stat blocks were created as NPCs that can be manually updated with the various options, but there is currently no Charactermancer support for this feature. I hope this helps!
I've noticed that I can't find the pages for the following sections in the compendium for Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft. The sections labelled, Keepers of the Feather, Vistani, and Other Groups can not be found in the compendium but can be seen in the handouts in the Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft game module. Not sure if this is only an issue I am experiencing or if others are not seeing these as well. According to the module they should be in Chapter 3: Domains of Ravenloft under the Travellers in the Mists section.

More info: The sections exist, they just aren't indexed under the book. Only as loose links in the Rules category: Keepers of the Feather Vistani Other Groups

In The House of Lament, the link to the Specter variant is broken , only showing User not Authorized. Variant: Poltergeist A poltergeist is a different kind of specter — the confused, invisible spirit of an individual with no sense of how he or she died. A poltergeist expresses its rage by hurling creatures and objects using the power of its shattered psyche. The Poltergeist stat block can be found  here .

We've fixed the link for the Compendium entry for Specter to properly direct to the Poltergeist stat block. Because of the way modules work this will not immediately fix this entry in the module. We've added it to the list of things that will be fixed in the first patch for the VRGR module.
