Weekly Gaming Session Summary #52 (05/16/2021

Thank You For Playing today's game 05/16/2021 - From 8:15 EDT, until 11:00 pm EDT, and our 290th Gaming Session, goes out to: Magic-User - Elf - Xilicien -  Devin M. Paladin Knight – Human – Lord Cromther - Cromth Cleric – Human - Sheila - Daniel M.     Game Summary for Sunday Evening (05/16/2021):   Opening Scene: It is now 59 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and It is now:  6:00 am on September 21st (Day 51 on the Isle of Dread). The party had previously raided a weapons warehouse, where they also found sacks of coinage and gems used to fund the Yuan-Ti’s war efforts. While feasting upon the yuan-ti turned chicken, a mischievous pixie named Allowishis,  has some fun with the adventurers meal by using the Illusion spell to create a talking cooked chicken, and winds up joining the group. The following morning they decide to go have another look at Horan’s Compound to see what is there. On arrival they see that the place is still heavily guarded. On their next excursion the party comes to a building in the north west temple quadrant of the Forbidden City of Thracia, just south west of the Bugbear compound. Allowishis tries the door and it is unlock and entered.   Inside they see a grand 130 ft long by 30 ft wide entry hall, with a set of double doors on it’s south wall and one on its eastern wall. They move to the east door 75 ft from where they entered and Lord Cromther opens the door into a fancy Lounge are complete with couches, lounge chairs, coffee table and a bar.   Searching around in the lounge yields 8 bottles of fine wine. Allowishis, put one into her backpack and pops open another with her dagger, then pours it into a wine glass and drinks.   After the wine sampling. Camlin and Lord Cromther try the south double door on the west side of the room, (there is another on the east side of the south wall, as well as one on the east wall).   Inside this large dining hall is twelve, 10 ft long tables with fine place settings and as Allowishis noted, fine silverware.  There are 3 sets of doubles doors evenly spaced along the south wall and one set of double doors on the west and east walls. Allowishis takes a plate with her.   Allowishis then goes to the center door on the south wall and opens it, seeing seven human cooks preparing a large feast, then tosses the plate into the kitchen where it the crashes into far wall, startling everyone in the kitchen!   After a conversation with the cooks the adventurers find out that they are slaves preparing a meal of Tyrannosauru s steaks for Yuan-Ti Purebloods. The cooks were either captured off merchant ships or rebelled against the yuan-ti and made slaves.   Going to the east double door of the dining hall, the party opens into a grand ball room area. Nothing of value is laying around here.   Using Xilicien’s 10 ft radius Invisibility spell, they get the slaves back to the mongrelmen camp.   Once the former slaves are safely in the compound the adventurers decide to have a look at Horan’s compound to see what is going on over there.   Here is what they see at the south main entrance in to Horan’s compound:   This walled compound shows signs of recent repair and upkeep. The streets around it are clear of rubble and undergrowth. This wall is 15' high, built of large blocks of unmortared stone. The walls are partially covered with vines. These appear to have been trimmed 3 ft short of the top of the wall. Atop the wall is a small walkway, large enough for a single person to stand and move around on. On that walkway bullywug, Yuan-ti and bugbear guards patrol it. Allowishis, being invisible and able to fly, fires off 6 magical Sleep arrows at medium range of 26 to 50 ft (-2 on ‘To Hit’ Rolls), with her pixie bow. She scores a hit on a bullywug (frogman) guard, dealing 1 damage however the bullywug rolls a 19 on it’s saving throw vs spell needing ≥ 17. So he shakes off any affect of sleeping other than a yawn.   This Bullwug was by the main gate and yelped out in pain from the sleep arrows yelp, then he shouts an alarm to the other guards.  These guards then aim down at anyone around the outside of Horan’s compound.   Meanwhile, Allowishis, continues to fly about, this time trying her magical Forget arrows, this time at short range of 6 to 25 ft. Four Forget arrows are fired and on hits Bugbear Guard #01 whom fails his saving throw vs spell, rolling a 7 needing ≥ 16, so thus he becomes confused and disoriented, wondering why he’s standing on some wall walkway. The other guards continue to train their bows and spears at the party outside the walls. Since no one has a weapon drawn, they do not yet fire.   Allowishis tries to open the main gate with a push, but it does not budge.   Allowishis tries casting her Confusion spell upon Bullywug guard #03 and he fails his saving throw vs spell, rolling a 6 needing ≥ 17. A roll of 58 on a D100 indicates that he would attack the nearest creature for 1 round  then rolls again to see what sort of confusion episode he has on his next turn.  Since there is no one nearby he just flails about at random!   Camlin contemplates drawing and nocking his bow then has another look at the guards on the wall walkway and decides not to do so just yet.   Allowishis goes up the stairs into the left side gate tower where a yuan-ti Half-blood is and spots the crank mechanism that opens the main gate. She then flies over to the main gate and sees that there is a padlocked chain holding the gate doors together so she attempts to pick it open, rolling a 1% needing ≤ 40%, she opens the lock in about 8 minutes while the confused bullywug guard is flailing about nearby.   Neither of the  yuan-ti guards to either side of the gate hears the chains clicking when Allowishis removes them.   Allowishis goes back to the crank mechanism and begins to turn the crank. The Yuan-Ti Half-blood snakeman,  sees the crank moving and tries to stop it from moving.   Allowishis sees him coming and backs off to fire her pixie bow with a Forget arrow but missed him!   Allowishis, tries to backstab the Yaun-Ti halfblood twice, missing both times, the second time she rolled a critical fumble of 1 and almost slipped but stays on her feet rolling a dexterity check of 3 needing ≤ 18!   Now the Yuan-Ti halfblood begins to swing his footman’s mace around hoping it finds something to bash, but he missed Allowishis! (He has a -4 on ‘To Hit’ Rolls due to Allowishis being invisible!   They would exchange swings of their weapons, Allowishis now using her pixie sword for 3 more times each, with the Yaun-ti fumbling once and almost slipping!   Allowishis, scores a hit for 5 damage with the pixie sword on the Yuan-Ti Halfblood, who yelps out in pain and shouts out to his comrades!   The Yuan-Ti tries to hit Allowishes again and missed. The Allowishis hits him for 5 damage with the pixie sword!   The Yuan-Ti hits Allowishis for 6 damage with the footman’s mace, then Allowishis missed him!   The YT Halfblood hits Allowishis for  3 damage with the footman’s mace, then Allowishis missed him!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-ti!   The YT Halfbllod, missed Allowishis, then Allowishis, missed the Yaun-Ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then Allowishis, hits him for  5 slashing damage with the pixie sword!   The YT Halfblood almost drops his weapon and loses his grip on the mace rolling a 20 needing ≤ 14!   [Opps, the DM read it as a success during combat because of the 20, so it continued as if he did not drop the mace!]   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis then she hits him for  6 damage with the pixie sword!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-Ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-Ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-Ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-Ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-Ti!   The YT Halfblood, missed Allowishis, then she missed the Yuan-Ti!
