Randomly Discovered This

I was cleaning out files on my computer and came to a "My Spore Creations" folder. Inside was snapshot imgs of creatures, buildings, and spaceships I had made in game. Out of curiosity I tried to upload the files into a Roll20 campaign, to my surprise not only did they upload but the tokens appeared with a transparent background. Seeing as I have Spore still, I figured if I need to make monsters, aliens, ships, or homes custom it should be quick and simple with those creation tools in game.

It shouldn't be surprising that they uploaded with a transparent background, seeing as they're PNGs. Spore is interesting in the fact that it saves its creatures as PNGs, rather than some other file type. All of the actual creature data is stored in some metadata on the image, rather than the image itself, though. Be warned that uploading them straight from the Spore save might fill up your library faster than normal PNGs. I'm not sure what your suggestion is, though?
I think the idea is that there's finally some valid reason to own a copy of Spore; namely, as a token generator. Even so, I think I'm gonna keep putting off buying a copy of Spore. I mean, it's a policy that's paid off so far in that I've never actually played it... -Phnord

Ya, don't go buying Spore for this reason. I just figured it would be a tool someone could utilize if they wanted. Better to know, plus it takes little to no art skill to make them.

I got a copy lying around the house somewhere due to my son liking to play it.
