Druid's Animal Tokens

Hello, Apologies if this has already been covered. I am a DM and one of my players is a druid who summons creatures to help him in battle. I do not know how to ensure he is in control of these animal tokens during battle. At the moment I have to control his creatures for him. This is what I have done: I have created a token for his various animals that he summons. I drag the token onto the map. I click on the setting gear Under "Controlled by" & then I click the druid's name. I save the settings.  He is still unable to control the token. Do I need to click "Represents Character" ? Thanks for any assistance with this.

This should be enough, if you select the Player's Name. 1) A more practical way could be for you to create separate character sheets for these animals that only the druid player control and sees, and then you save the tokens to sheets' Default Token . This would enable the player to drag-n-drop the tokens from their animal sheets when needed, just like they can do with their normal character sheet & tokens. Suggest you only make these animal sheets only visible in the journal & controlled by the player, the others have no reason to see the sheets in the journal. Putting all of them in a folder could also make sense. 2) Alternatively, you could create a single character, where you attach a multi-sided token , where each side in one of the animals, so the player can drag-n-drop the multi-sided token to the map, and then select which side to show. This would declutter the players journal by having a single animal sheet, instead of having several, but is slower to use than option 1. Using an multi-sided Token for the player's Wildshape is also practical, or having separate WS sheets so the stats are all correct for the player.
Thank you!
