Some of my players forget to change their role using the "As:" drop-down menu. Normally, it's not that big of a deal because we usually know which token that character is controlling. But when a player controls multiple tokens (via familiar, animal companion, etc), it can get confusing. Here's an example... Players have access to a token-ability macro titled "Initiative" with the following code... /em rolls for initiative... [[1d20+@{selected|INITIATIVE}]]! If they have the correct role selected in the "As:" drop-down menu, everything works correctly. But often time they forget to switch this role when they control multiple characters. So let's say we have a Wizard with a familiar. They have the Wizard role selected in the drop-down menu, select the Wizard token and use the token-ability macro, it says, "Wizard rolls for initiative... 15!" and everything is fine. Then it comes to their familiar's turn, they forget to change their role to the familiar in the drop-down menu, select the familiar token, use the token-ability macro, and it still says, "Wizard rolls for initiative... 18!" Then they could also switch to their player name and it would say "Player rolls for initiative... 13!" and there's no telling which token that was rolled for. Now, I understand why players shouldn't have access the the /emas command... they shouldn't be allowed to emote as tokens they can't control. But a /emsel (emote as selected) command might come in pretty handy and clear up a lot of confusion because it only works for tokens that the players can select. Yes, I suppose I could badger the players to make sure they select the right role in drop-down menu... but that can become a tedious task for them, and it can really slow down the game play until they get it right. EDIT: it also might be handy to have a "roll as selected token" command, but it wouldn't be as important because of inline rolls.
