What's a good Roll20 way to simplyfy Overland travel? Distance, provisions, terrain, encounters, scouting, foraging, etc.

I was reading an AngryGM article about making overland travel more interesting & challenging, but there's a lot to consider when questing away from civilised parts. Are there good ways to deal with all this complexity in Roll20? Anyone have tips?
You could build roll tables for all of those events, and simply roll on tables as needed.  Depending on how many things you want tables for that could be pretty quick or take quite a bit of time. If you have a Pro subscription you can use the Table Import script to build the tables in Excel and just import them easily, and use the Recursive Table script to roll several tables at once, but otherwise you'll have to do those things a bit more manually.
Interesting, I didnt know about the Table import script. Another reason for Pro. Just found a website,( <a href="https://www.kassoon.com/dnd/wilderness-travel/" rel="nofollow">https://www.kassoon.com/dnd/wilderness-travel/</a> ) that does some of the work. Using that and roll tables could be a good combo.
I find it funny that when I looked in the board I saw this. Not to self-promote but I just did a whole thing on mapping campaigns as well that has some features in it. Might help? <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/10180221/making-hex-crawl-maps-in-roll20-easy/?pageforid=10180221#post-10180221" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/10180221/making-hex-crawl-maps-in-roll20-easy/?pageforid=10180221#post-10180221</a>
Cool stuff Noah, that's really usefull, and has great advice on map settings for this kind of crawl :D There are some excelent hex tiles in the Marketplace too, for different terains. Another great advice page I found is <a href="https://journal.stephenpsmith.com/2019/12/30/overland-travel-encounter-tables/" rel="nofollow">https://journal.stephenpsmith.com/2019/12/30/overland-travel-encounter-tables/</a> With all this info, I think overlanding is looking a bit easier. I just need to get it streamlined now so that I dont have bored players waiting for their slow DM to sort all his rolls out lol.
