The conflict in the south has grown and war sweeps across the land, as Ironmaw brings fire and sword, their armies marching towards Canaar. The border of Canaar have been overrun, and now one of their largest cities, Vinfel, is under siege. Demons are encroaching on the Borderlands, yet a light shines in Felkar. The lords of the West have called their banners; some worry they will strike against Ironmaw, others hope they will ride north. Dragon sightings have become more common and rumours are that the devils can hardly keep up with the demand of people seeking to make deals with them. Trade is flowing through the eastern river, with Akarsha, Midia and Matterazi seeming to stay out of other's troubles while enriching themselves. Dwarves and Elves are recalled to their homeland, with kings and queens demanding more and more of the common folk. The only thing the people of Eithor are able to agree on is this: Dark days are ahead, days that have not been seen for a long time. Key points: The idea; the idea is for the players to be a part of a mercenary band, in southern Eithor, where war is currently raging between two nations. Each player will have a cast or either 1, or 3 characters, to select for each contract the party undertakes. The contracts will include potential themes such as combat, adventure, battles, politics, diplomacy, heists and the like. This is an idea that will be discussed more in session 0, and decided upon - depending on the party's preference. The ideal combat for this campaign would be difficult - that is not to say that all encounters will be deadly, but they should pose a challenge; whether to the player's skills, tactics or strength. This will be a mix of a mercenary company, together with contracts that include the above themes - and often can include fights against large creatures in a 'monster of the week' style too, with the players able to fight mythic encounters and the like. I've been DM'ing in TTRPs for 13 years, starting at quite a young age as a way to let my imaginations run loose. I'm a university student, doing my Masters in History and English. I like to run campaigns that are serious, with good roleplay and challenging combat; campaigns where the players get to feel like heroes through hard work and doing good deeds in the world. I'm very much a fan of 'traditional DnD' with Dungeons and Dragons being important to the world, and an open world with different storylines the party can follow. What I offer Reliability - will be ready every week, barring any emergencies. Availability - I will be around on Discord for any questions and the like you might have during the week, regarding characters, campaign or anything else. Experience - I have played Dungeons and Dragons for many years, and DM'ing for the vast majority of them. My campaign will include fantastic battlemaps from map creators for every scenario, tokens, lighting as well as voices for characters in the world. A homebrewed world and campaign, in a world full of wonders, mysteries, magic, intrigue and evil. The evil will take shape in Demons, Devils and Dragons, and of course, humans. These are the major villains in my world. DnDBeyond with all books unlocked for character creation and more. As far as the play setup Be playing 5th ed D&D, 90% RAW. Rule-of-cool allowed, if a player wants to do something not by the book, simply state what you'd like to do, and we'll figure out if it's possible - the dice will often decide. Point Buy, level 7/8 start. Character creation is 27 point buy. All official material + Unearthed Arcana are allowed. Few 'goodies' at character creation, such as magic item + 1 feat for free. Using milestone leveling. House rules are few, and none of them are big game-changers. What I expect of you Be respectful to others you're playing with Want to work as a team Enjoy roleplaying as well as combat, and wish to take the roleplaying serious. OOC jokes and the like belong in the breaks or so, not when we're all in character and playing Have a good set of headphones/microphone - no background noise clutter Will show up weekly on time, communicate during downtime and respond to messages Feedback - something you like? something you dislike? something you wish to see? Please do tell me, so that I can improve your experience.   I don't want any; Edgy characters / orphan-burning chaotic evil characters or 'murder hobo' ones PVP or people resorting to PVP to settle arguements in-character Unreliable people Any form of sexual play, this includes things such as trying to seduce everyone or visit brothels. It is a no from me. Pricing: This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $20/session per person. Payments will be made via PayPal, prior to the start of every session. Session 0 is free, session 1 is 10$. Please note that Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. How to join?
