You'll want to hear the GM's descriptions, and usually most players respond by voice, however responding by text is equally accepted as long as you can hear the voice communication. Discord Skype preferred for voice coms. Voice over Discord app Skype is preferred (current voice method preferred by the GM after I experimented with several options for voice over internet with a group). Discord can run on your Phone or Tablet while Roll20 is on computer: If you can use Discord Skype on your Tablet or Smart Phone, while seeing Roll20 on your computer, this makes a great combination. Tablets like iPads have good mics for voice & you can wear headphones to hear the sound, and adjust your own volume, while using your full-screen computer for the Roll20 gameplay. Web cameras are OPTIONAL to Use in this campaign. Cams not required. Playing Text-Only if you cannot do voice for any reason, talk with the GM. It is possible to play using text in the chatroom, if you need to do this, for any reasons of your own. It will be an exception that may be made by the GM on a case-by-case basis. Please tell me in advance if you want to play with chat only. There are several different approaches so I would like to know what works for you. There can be games where others are speaking, and you are listening and typing. If necessary there can be games where everyone is typing all of the communication in text, and sound is not used. The games of 100% text are the rare exception, as the GM prefers to deliver most descriptions verbally. Reply here about your coms capability / questions.
