"The Secret World" - D&D characters in early 1900's Earth

I'm still working on getting a "standard" D&D 5th edition campaign going, but I want to do an interest check for a concept that has been on my mind for a long time.  The notion is of a fading D&D based fantasy world existing alongside the early 1900's of our world. The Fey Kingdom. The Dwarven Clan Alliance. The Council of Mages. 5th edition characters and tropes (mythic ruins and dungeons, legendary creatures and monsters) existing alongside, but mostly hidden from, the new industrial mortal society.  Inspirations for this are many. Some of the scenes from Hellboy 2 harken to this. The Call of Cthulu RPG. Harry Potters Wizarding World. The 1600's fantasy novel "The Blazing World."  I love those "hidden world" concepts. Characters from The Secret World could include an Elvish swordsman from The Fey Kingdom. Or maybe a ranger living among the redwoods of California. Perhaps a human sorcerer trying to earn his way into the Council or Mages. I would allow most stuff from the PHB (a good basic place to start for an experimental concept). I think some interesting role play can come out of this.  I'm thinking this concept would play out a lot like a Call of Cthulhu session but instead of wimpy academics it's D&D characters who can take the fight to the grill of the nasties. I'd be interested in comments about this. Sometime soon I may do an official post looking to start a session up, and if you are especially interested send me a PM so I can remember to contact you if it looks like its coming together.  Happy gaming!
You responded to my message earlier. I'm interested.
