[LFP][Online][5e][Sundays][Homebrew][Discord] Rumors Of The Forgotten

1624888306

Edited 1624888330
Please note. This is a repost as over time and real life situations some players had to drop. So I am seeking to refill the ranks with another two players, potentially even three! The game has been going on for about 5 sessions now, but there is still plenty of time and room to fit in new players! About the game:  I am going to be starting up a long term 5th Edition game of Dungeons and Dragons based in a homebrew world. The game is intended to be a sandbox style game to avoid the feeling of railroading plot forced upon players. Along with the homebrew world there will be some tweaks and additions in the form of homebrew rules which will be fully elaborated and presented later on . Also I'd like it that we (Myself, as Dungeon Master, and players I hope to add to the game) take our roleplay seriously, or at least not cracking jokes every other word. I hope/plan for this group to become more than a random group of strangers who only converse and associate with only on game days, to a group of friends and companions who can enjoy each others company for many times to come. Playtime & Timezones:  Currently. The game is planned to play Sundays at 12 PM EST and often lasting until 4 PM EST, that is  4  hours . I also quite enjoy doing bonus sessions, so long as people agree to being up to play on none game days (Aka not Sundays) and it works for everyone else we can play on other days as well. Important Information: I welcome and encourage new and inexperienced Dungeons and Dragons players! If you are new to Roleplaying or Dungeons and Dragons in general, then please do not be discouraged to send in your application. I highly discourage rules lawyers in my game and because of this have no problems welcoming new comers into the game. I will be willing to fully assist you in character creation and understanding the rules required to play. We will be using  Discord  as our VoIP and will also be the application I use to interview everyone a tiny bit before just blindly inviting someone in. Enjoyment and Roleplay is my top priority!  Enjoyment control isn't easy with two people not conversing correctly to one another and explaining how they feel about something. So I ask that if there is an issue or something preventing you from a better playing experience that you inform me. This way we can see what we can do to try and improve the situation if at all possible. As stated before, I enjoy more serious roleplay. This means that we can have many sessions that consist only of dialogue and minimal dice rolling. So if you’re looking for action and combat packed session each day we play then you may not fully enjoy this game, unless you go about causing conflicts. Hook/Pitch: An ancient engraved stone map forged long ago by prophets who discovered and forced the evils out of this land has been rumoured of lighting up with magics imbued in it. After a string a recent freak earthquakes across the land, things feel indifferent. Though this has just been a wild rumour as of late that something has reawakened all the evils sealed away long ago. The map is supposedly showing locations of old legendary catacombs, tombs, battlefields, and sites of importance of evil from the period this continent was formed and colonized. In Northwatch a wealthy patron, Gavin Remorsk, is calling out for those who live their lives on different accords from normal citizenship life. Gavin is a well known Magi who was one of the head professor’s at Butterfly Lake’s Ethereal University, though long past his prime now. He currently has a date set for numerous meetings at the Eleventh Flame Adventuring Guild, to send various people on a plethora of tasks whispers say. Gavin claims to pay handsomely either with coin, gems, reagents, or other things worth value. People speculate something to due with the recent events that have occurred over the land. Most adventurers have been picking up sword and shield in hopes of ancient treasures and riches. Will you follow the path of lust for loot, finding yourself wanting to figure out the mystery going on, or even just trying to survive what the legends and old tales may have stated. How Do I Join? To join our game, simply send myself a private message with the following information inside of it. Any applications posted on the forums will be ignored. Please note:  I will be looking over every application on whether or not you will move to the second phase of the interview process, or if your application simply isn’t what we’re looking for. Also, please be as descriptive as you can! The more detail you put in, the more you’ll stand out from the rest! And please note that unless specified, I am asking for your real life information, not that of your character. Thank you! Name:   Age: Player Motivation:  (This means what style you as an Rper distinguish yourself as. I will leave information about Player Motivation below this form) Why do you want to join this campaign? What does a character focused game mean to you? How familiar are you with Dungeons and Dragons? What types of Roleplay are you familiar with?  (e.g table-top, L.A.R.P., online gaming, private server RP, etc.) What, if any, lines do you draw when it comes to roleplay? Even if it is handled maturely. What are your wants and desires out of this campaign? What do you expect out of character death? Do you think it should happen at any point during combat if the player doesn’t keep their guard up? Or should the GM go easy to keep the game flowing? To what extent is rule-lawyering allowed during a game? How long would you like this campaign to go on for/how long can you commit to it? Rough Character background:  (This should not be the character you want to play! This is simply to test and see how well you can formulate a background for a character. Please be studious enough to invest at least a paragraph or two for this portion.) Any Additional information you’d like to address? Questions, comments? What kind of player would you say you are with these example provided? The Power Gamer: Get more powers and use them often and efficiently. The Butt-Kicker: Enjoys combat and destroying NPCs! The Tactician: Likes to beat complex situations through thought and planning. The Specialist: The one who always plays a <insert character type>. Ninjas and Dritzz clones are popular. The Method Actor: Likes total immersion in a character’s assumed persona, whatever the costs! The Storyteller: Enjoys exploring a story unfold around a character’s actions and choices. The Watcher/Lurker: Shows up to be with friends and share the social energies of the group without necessarily being motivated by the usual incentives. The Instigator: Likes to make things happen and trigger awkward situations The Outlier: Seeking the emotional kick of subverting a group’s dynamic by creating weird characters or actively seeking failure.
Sara, Sisngood#7291 on discord, Megasaras on Reddit. The big four o I would say I'm probably the method actor. I always try to use a voice, I always try to go with the characters motivations, I just don't usually play any evil characters unless it's an evil campaign so it's not really that muc of a problem for th group. I absolutely love playing Dungeons & dragons! It's like my favorite thing to do! I'm running a little thin on games right now because of scheduling stuff, ghosty dms, and other similar things. In addition, almost everybody seems to want to do some kind of grim dark campaign and I kind of like to just do a regular campaign, one that has its grim moments, but isn't a depressing world. I thought quite a bit about the answer to this question. The best I can come up with is that there's going to be some kind of world ending crisis that our characters have to solve. As long as we solve it and don't die we will be the world's heroes, at least until the next crisis comes along. Very! I have played many many sessions, lots of one shots, and I'm even to the level where I kind of consider myself a baby DM. In addition, I have played 3.5, 5e, big eyes smallmouth, l5r, Star Wars fantasy flight, and many others. I'm pretty well versed! I have played tabletop, a little bit of l a r p, a lot of online gaming because of covid, as well as the elder scrolls video games. Like I said, I have found my niche with role plays!  Because I have been abused, I am very sensitive towards any kind of abuse to my character specifically. It's okay if it's an NPC or something like that or even another character if they discuss it with the DM beforehand, but with my character, it has to be a hard no. Well first and foremost, I want to have fun! I want everyone else to have fun! I want by the middle of the campaign, or even just a few sessions in, for us to be a real party, and relatively good friends in real life. It would be awesome if I could get a few real friendships out of this. I have a shit ton of close acquaintances, but only a few friends in real life that I consider real friends. I'm not exactly shy, but I don't exactly put myself out there either. I think the DM should go a little bit easy while the characters are low level and no one has revivifiy, after that, if we lose focus, if the dice are against us, what will be will be. Admittedly, I am a big fan of critical role, Vox machina in particular. And I find that character deaths can really change a campaign. I really don't believe in rule lawyering. I have seen it literally ruin a campaign, at least for me. I think it's okay to mention "I believe it might be this way" once, then shut the fuck up. After the session if you're really convinced that you're right and the DM is wrong, it's okay to come to them in private and discuss it. But not during the game. I have seen screaming matches between one person and another during the game and it really sucks! I want to go all the way! I want my character to become that epic hero that the world will talk about for centuries to come, along with the rest of her party! I want to reach level 20! And I can definitely commit myself and my schedule to reaching that point. I will give you the character background for Mari Lightfingers. She is a halfling rogue, arcane trickster. When her city was transformed to literally a Frozen hell, she took it upon herself to protect the children of the town, the orphans specifically. The people had no power, only the rich did, and the devils that ruled The realm. She became partly in assassin, partly a thief. If the nobility got too big for their britches, tried to give away more souls than she thought that was somewhat fair, the imp would come and ravage the nobility, one way or the other. It cost gold to support that many mouths after all. Before the change, Mari was a 20 year old young woman, with a younger brother who was always sick. Because she is a halfling, she started to put on a little bit of a disguise and perhaps lighten the purses of anyone that looked rich enough that there would be no real loss from the missing gold. Because she is so small, she would always talk like a child with a lisp when she was caught. She made them think that she was a little Street child. After the change, this became her identity. The rich would think that she was a poor broken girl who for some reason couldn't grow up. Her father in particular would be horrified to know what had happened to his "sweet little girl". And her father was one of the ones that made the original deal to transport the town. As for her mother, she made a deal to protect her brother and she hasn't seen either of them since. In addition to all that, I would be more than willing to make the entire party tokens. I'm pretty good at it, I've always been highly complimented whenever I've shown them to anybody. And I'm bored so yeah, that's kind of my way of hopefully extending an olive branch to the other members of the party. I am responding to this, showing that I have a roll20 account that is very active, as well as responding to this on discord via private message.
I'm definitely interested in joining. The only issue I have is the time. I don't know how flexible you are on that, but Sunday-Wednesday evenings work best for me. Before I put the time and energy into applying and answering all your questions, is the time adjustable? For instance, perhaps a 6-10pm EST or 7-11pm EST?
Hi my name is Murillo but you can call me Moz, I'm 19 years old and my Discord is BMC22#3201 I love rpg since I met all the possibilities and the magical world around it, I love critical role campaigns and some from my country, I also want to be a writer so rpg really is just a faster way to improve my skills. I also admire so much the possibility of meeting more people and theirs characters.  I wanna join the campaign because DnD is just awesome, like really is the thing I love so your campaign seems to be rather nice and I also want to play rpg in English, because it's my second language and met people from other cultures and country will be an experience that I want so much. I think that it's somehow always a character focused campaign because if we save the world or doom it it's because of our actions and the way that we interpret the world around us. We obviously are not all that matters but in the end of the day we are the one to save the world (or doom it). I'm playing DnD for 2 years know, I have tons of hours reading book and watching others campaign, I have so much hours that I'm comfortable saying. But that's not a bad thing at all. I guess the common one? I never knew that was ways of classify Rp, all I can say is that I enjoy Rp with all my heart. And also love to throw spells at bad guys, sometimes good guys to. It happens. About character deaths, I think that if we are being idiots you should punish us, but there are also the balance between enjoyment and keeping your players at bay per se. But I like when the danger is real, like, there's no sense in fight a enormous beast that will amoust certainly kill us if nobody feels that this is dangerous and we may die you know. I'm a bit of a pain in the ass because I like to play correctly, but I won't ruin the flow because of one spell that shouldn't work in that way or this way, we can talk about that after the session. Honestly, as long as I am enjoying and having fun I'll play man, that's all. I'll give you a bit of a character background that one of my character that I'm currently playing know (it's a call of Cthulhu themed campaign). Felipe is this halfling druid that was a good person who always wanted to help and was gentle with everyone one, and on top of that he was one of the clerics of the goddess of life. But one day the old ones awake and a serpent like creature erupted from the darkness and with her serpent kind children destroyed the village that I lived, feasting on the bodies of the one I couldn't save. On the next day my character wakes up in the basement of the church that I worked for, with a vaguely memory of what happened and with no power to wild shape anymore. Know he seeks vengeance and an end to this world of Chao's. Also understand of what happened and why.  I guess I'm a tactician kind of player but it has been proved wrong many times, but sometimes it worker and does are the one that matters. I'm writing this down for the second time because the first one didn't worked for some reason, so pls take it in consideration. I also have a friend that I'll tell about this campaign so maybe she'll joing in if you want.

Name: &nbsp;Vidar, DragonBoom02#9371 on discord, DragonBoom02 on reddit Age: &nbsp;17 Player motivation: &nbsp; As im very new to dnd i am as of yet unsure of what type of player i am. But Judging form previous experiences with crpgs and other rpgs I am a sucker for a good story and some good characters. So i am a probably a storytellar and maybe a metod actor. Why do you want to join this campaign: &nbsp;I really want to get in to dnd and you seem like a good dm. I also see dnd as a chance of getting good at characters and story as I'm interested in persuing som creative hobby in the future. What does a charachter focused game mean to you: &nbsp;Idk really but i think it means a game focused on character development and progression both mechanically and narativly. Like a good story with enjoyable character How familiar are you with Dungeons and Dragons: &nbsp;I am very new only with only i think 5-6 session under my belt, most of it combat and it was long ago. So it's most likely i need help and reminders on rules and such but i know the basics i think. Currently i have jsut experience playing a evocation wizard. What type of roleplay are you familiar with: &nbsp; The only kind of role playing i am familiar with are crpgs like tyranny, pillars of eternity and fallout, and a little bit of skyrim (really boring game when i played it 8-6 years ago). Tbh i have also some experience with the erotic kind regarding some of my online friends and my ex. I sincerely hope you're not disgusted What, if any, lines do you draw when it comes to roleplay? Even if it is handled maturely: &nbsp;idk i dont think i have enough experience yet to determine that yet. Sorry What are your wants and desires out of this campaign?: &nbsp;I just want a fun time and involve myself in a good story and an intressting world. I am a sucker for good worldbuilding and interesting lore, it's the entire reason i am a massive warhammer 40 nerd.&nbsp; What do you expect out of character death? Do you think it should happen at any point during combat if the player doesn’t keep their guard up? Or should the GM go easy to keep the game flowing?: &nbsp;I think a good middle gorund would be best. Easy enough to keep the game flowing but hard enough to prevent players from doing really stupid shit and getting away with it. Just keep it balanced thats all.&nbsp; To what extent is rule-lawyering allowed during a game?: &nbsp; As im a new player i would prefer it if there was a medium amount of rule-lawyering so i get to learn the rules and mechanics of the game.&nbsp; How long would you like this campaign to go on for/how long can you commit to it?: &nbsp; As long as possible probably form the little i have played I have really enjoyed dnd and would really like to get in to a campaign. In short i want to feel the same investment other players feel after a long campaign Rough Character background: &nbsp; Max dragonstone is an enigma of a character, nobody knows where he came from and what he is. From the countless whispers some say he recieved a blade sent from palor to cleanse the world from evil, Others say he is a mighty warrior from a far away land, enhanced with unholy magics. The truth however is sad indeed. Born in a simple village and being the son of the town smith, max's life was simple and earnest. He spent his life learnig his fathers craft and enjoying the company of his closest friend Erik. Both stuborn as they were joyful and mischevious as the devil himself they often got in to trouble but. For one day an old lady came to the village. She was old and thin to the point of starvation yet somehow she was as strong and health as any other man in his prime. She had settled down in the village utskrits in a ramshackle hut. One day Max and Erik decided they would sneek in to her hut to see what was doing during the days reclusive as she was. So at the time of midday when the old womans house was seemingly empty but as they snuck in to the dark hut the lady steped out behind them semingly out of the shadows. With a viper quick thrust she cut Erik throat and before Max could do anything the hag put a finger to his mouth. "If you want to save your friend listen carefully, i require a sword forged with the flame of hatred and quenched in the blood of the quilty. Dont ask me why, just do as i say or your friend is dead"&nbsp; Max rushed down to his fathers forge, lighting it and gathered his broken rusted pratice blade he forged long ago. In 10 min work he had hastily repaired the blade and was once again runing to the hut. Clinged to the small hope that the hag knew some kind of magic something that could keep his friend alive. Indeed she did when max came back to her Erik was somehow still alive. "Now then child" The old hag draged out a bonded and gaged individual "this man has raped and murdered countless individuals, plunge the sword in to his hearth and send him to the seven circles". With no other option to save his friend Max stabbed the man through the hearth killing the criminal instantly. The blade cooled together with the hissing and steaming of boiling blood. Slowly and carefully he plucked the blade out of his hand and placed it on Erics chest. With a shriek Erics soul got sucked in to the blade. With a cackle she sad "rejoice hexblade your friends souls is in the blade and together you and I will cleanse the world from evil. And as long as the blade or I rather have my fill of the guiltys blood your friend will be keept form deaths grasp" and with that she disolved in to shadows and from that day forward Max Dragonstone has wandered the land in search of the guilty, unholy and the deranged leave a trail of blood after each step Question: &nbsp;can i play as a gunslinger ( <a href="https://img.fireden.net/tg/image/1452/63/1452630054565.pdf" rel="nofollow">https://img.fireden.net/tg/image/1452/63/1452630054565.pdf</a> &nbsp;made by matthew mercer) I really want to play as a bang boom pirate but idk if that breaks the setting
