My name is Brett and I'm very passionate about Blades in the Dark.
I've been DMing Blades in the dark for a short time now, but
I've got many scores under my belt and a solid handle on the mechanics
and the lore of the world. If you're interested in joining me for some
misadventures in the city of Doskvol as a scoundrel in your very own
criminal crew please let me know a few things. Due to the nature and
themes covered in this game, I'm looking for fellow adults to play with,
so please 21 and up and only apply. please note there will be
measures in place to make sure no one is made uncomfortable by any
content or anything covered in game. Blades
in the Dark is a heist based game where you play a group of scoundrels
in a criminal crew set in a supernatural victorian style steampunk-ish
world where a great catacllsym struck the sun black and broke the gates
of death. You can play multiple types of criminal crews and multiple
types of scoundrels, it's much more open ended and cinematic and
narrative than D&D or other games like D&D. and far simpler to
learn and adapt to. No keeping up with inventory management, no
hitpoints, No ACs, no shopping scenes...Some of the things that inspired
this game are The Wire, Peaky Blinders, Dishonored 1 and 2 and The
Thief series of video games among some others. if this sounds
interesting let me know. Do you have any blades in the dark experience? How much if so? What other RPG experience do you have? Tell me a little about yourself. Games
will take place on Thursdays, and be approximately 4 hours long. This
will cover some free play, and information gathering in the beginning.
Then the actual criminal score will take place. Followed by downtime
and downtime activities...and then a little more freeplay and
information gathering to pick your next score. Why a
paid game? I've invested a lot of money into maps, assetts, and
other things to ensure the best experience i can for my players. And i
spend a lot of my free time thinking, planning and going over things to get things
just right for the sessions...Also I find that having a small fee for
the game attracts a dedicated more interested player that will stick
around for the long haul. What you can expect from
me...I will be available most hours of the working day to answer your
questions about the game and the setting. I will gladly work with you
and your fellow players to ensure the group has the most fun possible.
Blades is much more collaborative in nature than D&D and other games
like it. It has much more back and forth between the GM and the
players and I will honor that. You can expect me to provide maps where
available, but there will be times when theater of the mind scenarios
will be unavoidable due to the improvisational nature of this game. You
can also expect me to provide background music and to be on time for
sessions every week.
