[LFP][FREE][BEGINNER FRIENDLY][5E] Friendly Dm Looking For Players To Traverse The Harsh Winds Of Icewind Dale.

About Me Hey, I've Dm'd a couple of games of 5E with friends but recently I've wanted to expand my horizons and play some more DND so I came here to see if people would like to join. Beginners and Veterans are both welcome to join the frigid wastes of Icewind Dale! What Module would we run? We'd be running Icewind Dale, eventually, I would love to be able to make some homebrew campaign for a dedicated group of friends :) What time would we play? Once I get 3-4 players we could all discuss what time would be good for everyone. It could be once a week on a weekend or multiple times in a week over the weekdays we'll have to work out the kinks. How long would the module last? The module is made to take the players from level 1 to 12, I plan to have the sessions be at least 3 hours long so we would have a journey ahead of us. Would it cost anything to play? No, you can join the game without paying any fee. My Discord: Justice#2884 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resume If you could just copy this form and fill it I'll go ahead and give it a read and see if I'd enjoy having you as a player, don't be worried you probably are already one of them :D Preferred Name: Can be a nickname, your actual name or a series of numbers and letters we're if anything accomodating. Gender/ Pronouns: No judgement, just we need to know what to use on you. Age: Pretty clear. Discord: Just put your discord handle or PM me on roll20. Both work. Experience Roleplaying: You don't have to go as deep as you are down to the number of sessions you've run or played, but more of the general experience in DnD 5e or other systems and whether or not if you've GMed (or DMed) before. Total newbies welcomed! Roleplay Drive: What motivates you when playing ttrpgs? Are you more combat-oriented? More of a roleplayer? How do you feel about party dynamics? What do you expect to get out of roleplaying? Character Concept: As discussed in the other topic, write as much (or as little) as you want for me to orientate myself to what you want to play as. This is a big one, so if you want to flex and try to impress me, this is the question you must put the effort into. Art & Resources: This can be completely blank, but here you can list as much art, commission art, mood boards, tokens, avatar, picrews, or w/e you've made of your character as you want. All as links please so as to not saturate the topic. All these help conceptualize and understand your character better! And that's it! If you get the spot I will send you a message over on discord to confirm to you that you've been accepted! Fair warning, I might DM you on discord if I feel like I need more information on you / your character so as to break a possible tie. (I definitely just copy and pasted some else thing that I enjoyed very much)

Preferred Name: Jacob Gender/ Pronouns: He/him Age: 32 Discord: Infriga#6139 Experience Roleplaying: Been playing 5e since it was released, except for a hiatus the last few years. Ready to get back into it. Roleplay Drive: These days, definitely roleplaying. I want to create a character and take him on a journey. Loot and combat are fun but not as much of a focus for me as they used to be. Character Concept: Recruit (squire?) for an order of paladins that have taken the Oath of the Watcher. Aasimar orphan who was recruited by the order for his heritage, with the belief that half his parentage coming from another plane would be helpful in protecting the one he lives in. He's sent to Icewind Dale as his first task to scout and send reports back as able. Art & Resources: None so far. Will find material when my character is settled.
Preferred Name: AJ Gender/ Pronouns: He/him Age: 34 Discord: AJRetroGames#8656 Experience Roleplaying: Been playing around 20 years now. Started with AD&D, D&D 3.5 and have been playing mostly Pathfinder 1e and 2e since then. I did run a 5e adventure for my brother but it was homebrewed with some Witcher themed classes and races we found online and we honestly started with Pathfinder 2e rules before switching to 5e because he had D&D Beyond. Roleplay Drive: My normal group is very roleplay heavy with combat often a last resort. I'm no actor and my improv skills need work but I like hashing out a character more than jumping into combat...but I do enjoy a good combat from time to time. Character Concept: I typically play rangers or druids...the sort of nature lover or go a completely different direction with a dwarven craftsmen. But since I haven't played much 5e, I wouldn't mind trying something else to fill gaps in the party. I'm not as familiar with the available races and classes these days. Art & Resources:

Preferred Name: Matt Gender/ Pronouns: He/Him (P.S. Thanks for asking everyone this) Age: 38 Discord: werelock#0825 Experience Roleplaying: I have been playing and running games for the last 5 years. I am a single dad, so it's a good hobby to have after my kiddo is in bed. I am familiar with modules, having run Dragon Heist myself and played Descent into Avernus. I also have played in a level 2-20 campaign that is wrapping up this summer after 3 years. The chance to play with a group of people devoted to roleplay for that long and see how everyone's characters grow and mature has been amazing. I enjoy playing with new players and new DMs as well as experienced veterans. Roleplay Drive: I enjoy combat as much as anyone, but if it's not built on the foundation of the story and roleplaying, then what's the point? I could just play a war game if I wanted to play a turn-based combat game. What drives me is what I spoke of above--the chance to develop a character and a party of characters with my fellow players over time. Character Concept: I have been lucky to have such a solid core gaming group that I am happy to take a supporting role and develop my concept, personality and class, around the rest of the party. However, for Icewind Dale, I would really enjoy playing a wildfire druid. I have an idea for a hotshot hill dwarf from the south who came up north to make his fortune but got stuck in an avalanche and almost died if not for the intervention of a primal spirit. Now he struggles to do his best to live up to having been given a second chance. Art & Resources: Nothing yet. Thanks for reading and good luck with your search.

Preferred Name: John Gender/ Pronouns: He/Him Age: 30 Discord: MxK#5476 Experience Roleplaying: I've been playing 5e on and off since roughly when it released, with just a tiny bit of Pathfinder before that. I've also played a little bit of a sci-fi ttrpg called Stars Without Number. As for DMing I've wanted to try it out sometime but I really want to make a homebrew world and absolutely cannot make a good world map to save my life, so I've been putting it off lol. Roleplay Drive: I like to immerse myself in the world, give my characters a motivation beyond whatever the "main quest" is supposed to be. I prefer roleplay to combat, though I certainly like combat don't get me wrong! I tend to see combat as more of a vehicle for the story than anything else, it's a form of conflict resolution. I don't really sweat the party dynamic stuff too much generally since the DM can fix a lot of that within the game, like if the party doesn't have any healer they could just hire a priest to heal them out of combat or whatever other solution needed. As for what I expect to get out of roleplaying, I'm really just here to have fun telling a story with friends. Character Concept: So the character I'd like to play is an Order of Scribes Wizard, assuming that Tasha's is allowed. I'm not super familiar with Forgotten Realms as I mostly play homebrew so I kept it vague so it can fit in wherever it needs to but the idea is that he discovered his spellbook at a young age while exploring an old ruin and became fascinated with deciphering it and learning all he could from it. Over the years he developed quite a talent for the arcane and a desire to go out and wander the world for more magical artifacts and arcane knowledge in order to complete what will become his life's work: The Arcanomicon, the premier treatise on all things Arcane. Since the Order of Scribes spellbook is sentient, I imagine it as the soul of an ancient wizard who wanted to become immortal but not a lich, and so experimented with volatile magic which of course went awry, trapping what little is left of his soul in the spellbook, animating it and giving it some semblance of sentience. Art & Resources: Here's his token.
Name: Alex Gender/ Pronouns: She/Her Age: 28 Discord: ASN #6912 Experience Roleplaying: I've been playing D&D 5e for 5 years fairly regularly, mostly on Discord and Roll20, and been a DM a handful of times Roleplay Drive: I am more story driven, and I enjoy combat as a source of tension within that story. I prefer parties that get along and work well together, regardless of party build. I like D&D best when there's a focus on character development, I love creating a flawed character who makes discoveries about the world around them and seeing how it changes them on their journey. Getting to hang out with other story nerds is always welcome, too! Character Concept: I'm happy to adjust my ideas based on what would work best for the party, but what I would primarily want to play is a Water Genasi Bard, who has a taste for tall tales, often boasting about her many accomplishments as a swashbuckling pirate despite never having set foot on a boat. She's memorized every shanty she's ever heard and has a tendency to leave things more on fire than when she found them. Art & Resources: None yet!
Preferred Name : Chris Gender/ Pronouns : Male He/Him Age : 38 Discord : cbeaman#2192 Experience Roleplaying : I've been playing 5e for 2 years and I am looking to join a regular and reliable group. I generally like to play a support character with my favorite class being Bard but I'm also very interested in trying out a Paladin. All of my D&D play has been remote on ROll20 and Discord so I'm very familiar with the applications. I generally use my D&D beyond account to track the PC traits, skills, and slots but I have also built out my attack macros for Roll 20 so my damage types and bonuses are clear for the dm/players. Roleplay Drive : I like playing a good balance of roleplay and combat, at least one fight per session would be great. It is important for the party to communicate and as my favorite class being the bard/support I love to bring the groups together. Character Concept: A Tiefling Bard that has constantly been persecuted for being a devil. Was about to give up on his dream of exploring the world when he was given a ring in his instrument case from a stranger saying that the beauty of their talent transcends the way they are treated. That ring is a genie vessel and a warlock pact is agreed with the genie so that the Tiefling can be successful hiding their appearance while using their gifts. Art & Resources : ROll20 and Discord
Cheers, Justice. Preferred Name: G Gender/ Pronouns: Male - He/Him Age: 39 Discord: Gnivid#2279 Experience Roleplaying: For the past couple of decades I've been a part of the DND world, though most always as a DM. It is always a joy to experience both sides of the table. Seven years ago, I moved to a remote community - teacher - and there are no table tops to drop dice on. That's where R20 and online play comes in! Roleplay Drive: RP is driven by the players around the table. As long as those included are having a good time, I'm open for anything. Whether its RPing in social encounters and taking names, combating and kicking butt and taking names, or simply exploring and... taking the names of places? I'm good with anything that makes the game interactive and fun for all. Character Concept: Sometimes the Monk is the strong silent type, but not always. Depending on character creation options from the DM, we shall be able to delve deeper into what motivates this aspiring Monastic Mystery to dare traverse the harsh lands of Icewind Dale. Art & Resources: TBD
referred Name: Stigandr Gender/ Pronouns: Male, He/Him Age: 26 Discord: Stigandr#2325 Experience Roleplaying: Been playing various ttrpg for about 2 years now and dming for a year Roleplay Drive: I mostly prefer problem solving and roleplaying, I like to play a fun character that can bounce off the other personalities at the table. As far as party dynamics go I think it is important to have the party willing to work together and come up with a plan they can all agree is the least awful option. Character Concept: Caveat that I would want to chat more about how you run games before I finalize my character. I was leaning towards playing a pessimistic sarcastic cleric who turned to religion as a last chance to try to fight the growing darkness.. Kinda guy who says "only 3 pcs died in that last fight, that is 40% better than I was expecting." Art & Resources: https://www.deviantart.com/ubergank/art/Cleric-827191970
