Looking for a Paid Dungeon Master. I will provide the Game & the Players.

Roughly $10/player. Discord for voice. I spent the pandemic creating & running a module that works. I have run 5 groups through the story and it has been a winner every time. Haven't had a drop-out yet. I think that's because the story gets customized to fulfill their character needs: revenge, redemption, riches or romance. I now have more players wanting to join than I can handle, so I need a good Dungeon Master to help. This game has plenty of good combat but also has a lot of room (and need) for role-play. The characters' backstory changes the campaign; we address their individual player needs within the framework of the story. It's emotionally satisfying as well as visually exciting (there are a lot of great battlemaps). Here's what I need you to be: Unbelievably Friendly. D&D games last because the party becomes a real team, and you need to be the one facilitating that with your good humor. Reliable . Show up, communicate, be proactive & don't create bad surprises. Steady Eddie. Experienced . 1000 hours on Roll20 minimum. I need someone who can run game mechanics easily, so you focus on building character. Flexible . Creating a world for your unique characters takes the ability to take a module & make it yours. To Apply : Respond in this thread with your unique qualifications including Why do you like being a DM? What draws you to fulfilling Character arcs? One story about a journey you took a Player through, and how it fulfilled the need of their Character. How many hours do you have on R20? Dungeon Masters with a background in Drama or Literature will be given additional consideration. Thank you so much and I appreciate your interest. -Let's Roll
This sounds awesome! I wish I had the Roll20 chops, but alas I have invested my skill points in ZOOM and storygames. Hope it goes well!
That's a lot to ask of a DM for just $10 a player. You're asking for basically Mercer.
Hey there My name is Mike and I am a GM for a small group called Kobold Kaverns! I've been an in person and online DM for over 6 years now and also have a lot of experience as an actor/voice actor. I have a degree in English Literature, have started in over a dozen productions and have also written and directed my own play. 1. I love being a DM! It is as simple as that. I enjoy being a player, but being a DM gives me a freedom like no other, and allows me to express ny joy for acting and writing by creating fantastic worlds, plots, quests, and suspense. What brings me the most joy however is seeing how my players react to such things. I love seeing their surprise, their cunning, and their joy when they overcome the challenges and barrier that block their progress! 2. Similar to what I've said above, watching a character arc run to its completion is a feeling like now other. Many people think that to be a writer or actor you need to have been educated professional. This couldn't be more wrong! I've seen players who have gotten to the end of their arcs and give heartfelt speeches or put on intense performances like no other! All of it coming just from their own emotions and investment in their character. That is a feeling that no one can force, it has to come naturally and when it does it is unstoppable! 3. I had a player a few years ago who was a housemate of mine. This was during an evil campaign where she played the daughter of the God King, a vicious tyrant who used his children like tools and pitted them against each other so that eventually one would try to kill him and take his place. Her name was Valencia and she was ruthless and fierce, he only goal was to prove to her father that she had what it took to kill him and take his place. The campaign was filled with moral choices and a lot of tough decisions. Valencia and the party ended up with a loyal group of soldiers, men who would serve them to the end. One of these soldiers eventually saved her life, almost dying in the process. Valencia couldn't understand this and nor could her player. Why would a soldier do this after how badly she had treated them and how she used them. The soldier's name was Cullene, and session after session Valencia would give him the hardest tasks, the most dangerous missions, to try and prove that his dedication was fully. He obeyed, and he came back every time. She eventually questioned him about this and Cullen admitted that he didnt follow her orders because of her rank and who her father was , but because of who SHE was: a strong woman who time after time battled with her father's schemes and plans to prove her worth. Valencia refused to let her guard down but eventually the two of them fell deeply in love and came together. Months later Valencia found out she was pregnant. She was terrified of the monster the child would become with the combination of her father's blood and her as a mother. She kept it from Cullen and eventually the time came to face her father in a final battle. The party faced the God King and and in that moment the God King offered her everything if she proved herself to be a good child and betray her party. It was in that moment that Valencia and her player realized how much the character changed, and to now she had a lot more to live for than escaping her father's shadow. In the final moments of the battle Cullen threw himself at the God King, using a relic of old to banish his soul from his body, in exchange for his life. In his dying moments Cullen revealed that he knew about their child and that he, as always, was proud of give his life for Valencia. As he passed in her arms, both player and character knew that Valanceia has finally escaped her Father's clutches, not killing him, but by defying him and taking the chances to be happy as they came. The campaign ended, and the party assumed the title of Council of the Realm, turning from the God King's most sinister minions, to the keepers of peace within the Empire. 4. Unfortunately I only have under 200 hours on Roll20. This is because I have mainly played in character games. Since the pandemic I have been using Roll20 more and more to get that Tabletop fix, and have been learning even more rules and settings! I am however proficient in map making (I'm subscribed to a lot of tools online) and world building using all of the resources Roll20 has avalible to me! I am also apt at using music and customized character token to set the mood within the game and have been doing so ever since I started running pay to play sessions. It would be an absolute pleasure to run games for you all and I hope you have enjoyed reading my application and will consider me for the position. Many Thanks GM Mike
Edit to the above: Just an error on the information I gave. I actually have around 550 hour on my Roll20 account!
Hey hey, I'm J! I'm a proffeisnal host with 20 years experience, and a background in drama, improv, and psychology. You can find my review page here: https://startplaying.games/gm/baloo . My usual rate is higher than offered, but as I don't completely fit your request I'm willing to discuss it What's the haps? I love your clear expectations, and solid dedication to your team. Awesome! 1. I don't like being a host. That drastically undersells the gravitas of the job. I love it! The moment when players' eyes light up is dreamgold. It is a heavy responsibility to have others trust you with their time, energy, and emotions. It is my grand privilege, and joy to carry it 2. The privilege of catharsis building up, and then satisfying it is one the greatest things a story, and by extension myself can offer. 3. One of my favorite arc resolutions came from a Orc Barbarian who couldn't read, and loved kids. Over the course of his life he found that rage alone could not solve all of his issues. Anger scares children. Early on the player and I worked out that the desire to shelter those weaker then the Orc, and ultimately children, was the core of the PC. Over time we explored that rage was a concern, and a strength. That, combined with the PC's inability to read lead to an internal conflict. "How do I develop new skills to better project those I love if I have to things (read) I hate to grow", and "Am I willing to do that"? The answer turned out to be "yes". Today, that barbarian is the proud proprietor of a bookstore with a daycare in the back. An axe hangs above his desk, suggesting the past to those might threaten the childrens' futures. 4. Under 20 recorded. While I can use it well, my focus is in other platforms. Which is to say, my clocked hours are not indicative of my skill with it. Have a grand day, and I hope you find the perfect host for you!
Wow, this is great, guys! I'm super-impressed. There is a lot of talent out there! I will look through these more closely and start communicating directly with you; hopefully there's a good fit for us. Thank you!
