I have been into TTRPG's for over 30 years now and while I did not get into Dungeons and Dragons until a few years ago I have played and run countless numbers of games in many different systems over the years and will be bringing ideas and things from other systems into the campaign. Other than RPGs I am currently a student that has just recently finished my bachelor's degree in media, aesthetics, and storytelling and I will be continuing towards a Masters's degree in digital narratives in the upcoming fall. The reasoning behind offering a paid game is for me to supplement my income a little by asking for a small fee while I study. The setting of this homebrew campaign will be a grimdark fantasy centered around themes of community, resistance, and offering problematic choices to the players. The campaign has a fairly structured start introducing the characters to the setting and its problems. After a few sessions, the setting will open up and take a much more open sandbox structure where I will be making content based on the players' and characters' choices and interests. The setting itself will be changing during the campaign. The game will run in 3-hour sessions where I will be available before the game for questions, talking, or just hanging out for a bit. Character creation Character creation will be done together during session 0. I do not mind if you have ideas before but please do not commit yourself to anything before talking to the group. I personally think that characters made together tend to cause less friction since there is a lesser chance of expectations clashing. More instructions will be given during session 0. Why pay? By making this game a paid one, that allows me to put more effort into it and hopefully make a better game for you. It also makes sure that players have more of a vested interest in the game. That, in turn, will hopefully make the group more stable and let us make a closer connection and enjoy the campaign as well as make some friends.
