Three things to try: 1) Check "global_save_mod" and see if it too, is blank. 2) Try manually adding bless and removing it. 3) Remove the parentheses from the character's name. Control characters such as (){}[]@#$%&" and ' can cause the parser to become confused and pull data from the wrong character. Try something like "Smoke - Smoking Mirror"
