Future of the Campaign: Discussion

So there's something serious I need to discuss with everyone. In a couple months, I'll be starting a new job around the same time as we finish this story arc, and my schedule will likely change to make this game time/date impossible or extremely difficult for me. If it does, I might be able to move the game to the same time but 4 days later (which will be Sunday night for me, right now is Wednesday night), or (more likely) I may need to switch it to play-by-post like my other campaign. For anyone who hasn't done PbP in Roll20, it basically works the same way as a normal text-based session, except that it's happening 24/7 and everyone posts about once a day. It tends to slow down the storyline a lot for roleplay periods, but less so for combat (with a slightly altered initiative mechanic) and it's much less affected by party size (which is good, since this campaign has a big party right now :P). What do each of you think, and which option would work for better for you? Would you want to stay and keep playing if we have to switch to PbP?
Hey Max, first of all congrats on your new job!  Same time on Sunday doesn't really change much for me, and it would be obviously be better than a play by post (though I'd still love to play if we change format). In case we actually switch to a PbP, would it still be possible to try and schedule even a shorter session so that social encounters don't take months to resolve?
Gratz on your new job! Actually, a weekend would be good for me too, since I am working on getting a new job too :P PbP is fine, though I do agree with Dawi that we might need to do something about social encounters to prevent them from taking way too long.
sundays are good for me
I hadn't considered the idea of blending the two formats, but mostly PbP but with occasional Sunday sessions for heavy social encounters could work for me too.
Sunday is good for me as wll. Dawi's method is also quite interesting.
If i got it right Sunday night for yous is Sunday morning for me so i am ok with it. -I am with you for the long term & i understand what 6 player's life responsibilities entrails. My own campaign is on is 5th year and these things moves and changes from week to week.    *Some gm fix  the continuety presence with some retcon expongifiers, others with Pocket planes or some use time displacing interventions. I'd say  *play by post* brings a lot of randoms unless you meant *private play by post* if its even a thing...  no mather the method if you don't want you're *stable* players to miss they're part on the story by playing random days, simply prepare one-shot or mini-games when companions are under the half present.

Random players and continuity problems wouldn't be issues if we do PbP, the campaign would still take place in the editor with just the 7 of us. Everyone would still be able to take part in general, since they could access the editor and post at whatever time is convenient for them. It might actually help to balance out our time differences a bit, since a bunch of us are in very different time zones.
It would be fine for me to play both Sunday at the same scheduled time and/or PbP
