Welcome new and experienced Players,
I am looking for cooperative,
supportive, and enthusiastic people who are excited about playing some
D&D5e. This group is forming to play through The Sunless Citadel , with the
idea of continuing on for long-term campaigning, role playing, and epic
adventuring!
I am putting together a group to
play D&D5e on Roll20 and Discord during Saturday
evenings around 6 to 10pm EST . The goal is to have a group of 5-6, with
2 (or more) people who can DM. Ideally, the two DMs would alternate
running an official campaign (long-term) or game every couple of weeks, or
whenever the natural break would be.So 5-6 people total, with 2 games from 2 different
DMs, 2 characters (1 for each game). I will be one of the
DMs and I am leaning towards running The Curse of Strahd (2 nd
run) or Storm King’s Thunder after we play through The Sunless
Citadel.
My D&D background includes many years of TTRPG experience,
although mostly in 1st & 2nd ed. and many years ago. For the last 4 years
I've been playing 5e and gaming on Roll20, almost exclusively as DM. I
have an old-school influence, so I tend to run a challenging game (e.g.,
creatures use tactics according to their abilities, some may try to kill and
eat you, etc.). Players who know or learn the importance or planning, strategy,
and knowing thine enemy will fare better. I invest heavily in my games,
spending a good amount of effort setting up encounters, weaving story lines,
making custom handouts, and setting up killer themed soundtracks. Goals for our group members :
Be Proactive in our communication and how we play the
game. Be enthusiastic and seek to facilitate connections with others. Be Engaged, taking the plots and settings fairly
seriously, looking for ways to incorporate our characters into story
lines, finding reasons why our characters would do something that
progresses the story, we don’t undermine or negate. Be Committed to making the game better. We show up on
time, prepared and ready to play. We seek to be helpful and supportive. Be cooperative and interactive, with a drive towards
collaborative storytelling. Be flexible with your game interests (i.e.,
Roleplay/Social, tactical Combat, and Exploration). Given the variability
in the DMing styles and games played, those interested should be adaptable
in their play style and capable of having fun in different settings.
