About me: Hi, my name is Chris. I have been running RPGs for 18 years. In that time, I have run online games through roll 20 as well as in-person games. I have run many games from D&D, GURPS, FATE, SHADOW-RUN, VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE, WORLD OF DARKNESS HUNTERS, TORG, DARK EYE, SAVAGE WORLDS, and many other systems. I enjoy teaching new players different systems because each system has something interesting to offer the player from a mechanical and a story perspective. My DMing style: I work with the players to make a fantastic story while also providing opposition and opportunity for the players to rise to the occasion. I like to focus on roleplay other than just combat. I view storytelling as cooperative laughing and having fun is the type of experience I stride towards for my players. I like an openness and a cooperation with my players so that the game can be even better. I am planning to start a Paid game, and I am gauging interest in what people would want to play. The plan is to have an official offer ready within a few days of finding out where the interest is. Regardless of which game is chosen, the game will be very new player-friendly. The games that I would like people to vote for so I can gauge interest are: Option 1 : Savage Worlds Adventure Edition Deadlands: Horror at Head Stone hill- This can be best described as a sandbox adventure in Montana during the wild west of 1884 in a supernatural alternative history setting. The party would travel through Wyoming as part of an organization called the Twilight legion, trying to restore peace to the area while stopping the area from getting terraformed into a hellscape. Option 2: Dungeons and Dragons: Water Deep Dragon Heist - An intro-level D&D game. Dragon Heist is a treasure hunt set against an urban backdrop. Half a million gold coins are hidden somewhere in Waterdeep. Many individuals know about the cache and are looking for it. Adventurers can join the hunt and prevent the treasure from falling into evil hands. The city is threatened by escalating tension between two power groups on the verge of flaring into violence. The Zhentarim, a shadowy network of mercenaries, and Xanathar, the beholder crime lord of Waterdeep, are at odds. When they clash, the characters are pulled into the conflict. Place: Virtual tabletop on Roll20, voice chat on Discord Duration: Sessions last 3-4 hours. Once a week on a day chosen between Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Payment: $20 per player per session via PayPal. Session 0 would be free; every session after is $20. Roll20's required payment disclaimer: "This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $20 per session via PayPal. This payment will take place before each session starts. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements." My plan would be to run a weekly game for 3-4 hours on a designated weekday, probably a Monday or a Thursday. Still, if the interest is there, I would be willing to do it Wednesday nights instead. It would probably be 7 pm to 11 pm eastern time. Still, suppose time needs to be adjusted to something earlier. In that case, I could accommodate as early as 3 pm on any of those days, but that would be a group choice should interest be there to do that. Please either PM or post here. I would forward to running a fantastic adventure for 4 to 5 players. I will get the official LFG page up once I have determined if people are more interested in option 1 or option 2.
