Heya! I want a loot table for my game, and i want to create a macro for it, How would someone do this? 1, ask the lvl of players. 2. how many in the party. 3. Monster type Loot table i want in my game: https://www.patreon.com/posts/40857187
What i got so far: #TableType?{Creature type?|Aberration, A|Beast, B|Celestial, C|Construct, Ds|Dragon, E|Elemental, F|Fey, G|Fiend, H|Giant, J|Humanoid, K|Monstrosity, L|Ooze, M|Plant, N|Undead, O} Abberation Table: [[2d4 * 50 * ?{APL}]] gp [[?{APL}]] * 50 gp gems [[1d4]] 15 gp art objects /r ?{number of PCs?|0}t[Table ?{lvl of party|1-3, A|4-6, B&#1247-9, C|10-15, D|16-20, E}]

It looks like you have html replacements everywhere. The only place you would need to do that is when you have nested queries (1 inside another). [[[[2d4]]*50*?{APL?|1}]] gp Personally, I wouldn't nest queries in your last line. I would just make a different macro for each level band, or change the table call for the correct level band as the party levels up. This is probably due to my not liking to answer queries all the time though, so I keep them to a minimum. You could also put this in a template to organize the output a little. /w gm &{template:default} {{name=Treasure Generator}} {{GP=[[[[2d4]]*50*?{APL?|1}]]}} {{Gems=[[?{APL?}*50]]GP}} {{Art Objects=[[1d4]] (15 gp each)}} {{Treasure=[[[?{Number of PCs?|0}t[1-3]]]}} This is using the default template which is available in any game on Roll20, but whatever character sheet you are using might have a roll template built in that would produce nicer looking output.

Something to keep in mind is that you are going to end up with a lot of rollable tables, which isn't usually too bad, because you aren't usually scrolling down the list to call one manually anyway (at least that is my experience). But you are also going to end up with a bunch of macros. If you are going to create the entire network of macros to call for different creature types, level bands, etc., I would be tempted to create a "character" called Treasure Generator" and have all the macros on the Attributes & Abilities tab of that sheet. You could give it a token and leave that token on the GM layer somewhere, and if your macros are marked as token actions, you just need to select the token to have access to them. You can also use the Bio & Info tab to put links to important handouts or external sites (like the place you got the tables in case you need to check something there). Creating them on a character sheet probably won't be important if you don't otherwise use many macros in the Collections tab. But if you do put a lot of things there (weather generators, encounter generators, etc.), then it might help keep your macros organized and easier to find if some of them are split off onto sheets.
good suggeestion,, now how do i make the other macros,, :b
