[LF3-5P][World of Darkness][Free] - The City That Never Sleeps

1628896670

Edited 1628897804
Start Date: 6 Sept 2021 Day of the Week: Mondays Time: 17-21 GMT (19-23 CEST) Language: English System: World of Darkness Books: Vampire the Masquerade. Werewolf The Apocalypse, Demon the Fallen, etc. Race: I will not allow the Fey book. Style: Grim-Dark/Politics-Intrigue with some combat. Age: 18+ The City that Never Sleeps lives up to its name. New York’s nightlife is as vibrant as ever. The bars and nightclubs are busy. People in suits work overtime to get by. The police and other civil employees strive to keep the city safe and running. At home, families watch their television in blissful ignorance. Right outside their door, the real monsters roam unchallenged. The Children of Cain control most of the city. The Pack roams the countryside, dominating its resources. There are those in between, trying to eek out a share. But the nights in City that Never Sleeps keep on as they always have. For now. I’m a veteran GM and am looking to run a World of Darkness game. The game will be a sandbox with a hint of a main plotline. I’m looking for 3-5 (5 is only if I find 5 amazing players) players. My expectations: 1: 18+ Years old. This isn’t for NSFW content but I want to deal with adults. There will be sensual content, seduction and the like, but any smut scenes will be fade-to-black. 2: Not accepting premade groups. 3: Discord Voice Chat is a must. The game will be played primarily via voice, not through text. 4. Punctual. We each are giving up a portion of our time. I (the DM) take extra time to write the story and prepare things for the next week. I view it as incredibly rude to be late. You being late leaves me and the other players waiting. If you have to be late due to real life things, I expect the courtesy of telling us as soon as possible. We also understand that emergencies happen. 5. If it pans out and we get a good group with good chemistry, I want it to go for a while. If things don't work out, I will keep it to a shorter story. 6. To me, World of Darkness is a higher tier of roleplay than D&D. I expect you to be capable of roleplaying in the situations, and not relying on dice rolls as heavily. Character Creation: 1. Standard character creation, on what each of the above books allows. 2. I want you to think about your character’s nature and demeanor. 3. I’m not expecting a 5 page background, but I expect pictures, thoughts, motivations to help me form the story to your character. Settings: I am inclined towards New York City, but not the World of Darkness version, but my own home-brew. Don't expect the NPCs from the books to be present. This will likely be a Camarille not a Sabbat campaign. I am from the EU, so there may be details about NYC or American life that I don’t know. Have some patience with me on this. What you can expect of me: 1: Free. I will not be expecting any money for this. I am doing this for my own enjoyment. 2: I will create a story that will be unique and draw you in. I am really good at this. 3: I will be on time, ready to play at the appointed time 4: I am willing to talk with you about your character's goals and incorporate them into the wider story. 5: I have GMed for 20 years. I have been in a lot of different situations and am pretty quick thinking on my feet. 6: I have a lot of experience in a lot of systems, from D&D to World of Darkness, Star Wars, Call of Cthulhu and D&D. I've done a number of WoD campaigns. How to Apply: Send me a Private Message here, on the forums. I want some basic information from you: 1: Your timezone 2: How much Roleplay experience do you have. 3: that you are an adult. (I don’t need documents or anything, just confirming you understand that I am looking for adults only) 4: I want concept ideas you have for your character. What would you like to play and why. This needs a degree of detail, but no more than 5 paragraphs. Before I accept any player, I will want to talk with voice chat with you. This will take me some time, be patient. I will get back to each of you. There is plenty of time between now and the 6th, so don’t feel put out if I take a few days to get back to you. I will get back to you at the very latest on Monday the 30th. I am accepting applications up until I post in this thread that I am not. If things don’t work out, I will also post here.   I look forward to talking with you soon. Best Regards.
Already have a few background stories coming in :)  Hope that more people want to apply  :)
Just wanted to write that I'm a few weeks into my first campaign with Daniel as the GM and he brings immersion and atmosphere to the max. He's patient and understanding, especially if you're new to the world of Roll20 but you can tell how experienced he is as a GM through his gameplay and from the worlds he creates. This sounds like it will be an extremely fun campaign and wish I could be part of it, if only I had the extra day to spare.
Thanks Ceige! Cya on weds ;) People are still more than welcome to put in an application :)
I've joined this game. It will be my third game with Daniel. He's a great GM. If you're sitting on the fence unsure about this one, then don't wait any longer. Join us!
So! World Building is still going strong here. 1. Primogens have been made, as well as upper echolon, such as the prince and seneschal. Still working on the sheriff. 2. Currently working on major factions in the city, such as mummies.   3. Depending if I get a mage player or not, then I will create a mage sanctuary in more details! So! thinks are advancing good forward!  What I need now is more people to apply! Come happy!
Another one here to say that Daniel's a great GM.  Vampire isn't really my thing - I like my dragons and beholders and, yes, spider-horses - but if you're interested I can guarantee that you'll be playing with someone who takes real care over his games.
Heya, I Have never played World of Darkness before, but am willing to learn :P
There is still a few spots left for 1-2 lucky player! so  Do not hesistate! apply :D
I want to thank everyone for applying. It was a difficult decision, but I have chosen the team that I am going forward with. There were many brilliant ideas, and it really took me some time to decide. I’m sorry to those who I didn’t choose, I wish I could have you all, but I cannot. Should something occur and an opening happen, I will be certain to reach out to you all again.
