Greetings, I am a forever Table top DM of 35 years exp in D&D going all the way back to chain mail as my start. I am looking for a group starting out, no West March, at first level and going onto 20. I am a 45 YO medically retired Vet that is looking. I have been turned for numerous games I can only guess is for my age, but it is what it is, I like to say. What I am looking for: Days: Wed 8am to 11 am start times for 4 hour game Thursday all day up to 6pm start time Friday same as Thursday. All times are in EST Game: I have played or ran most modules, there are a few I haven't touched other than a part here or there. STK (Only the beginning) Icewind Dale (Not at all) Have an idea of combining Icewind dale with Storm King. Survival post apocalyptic Faerun game (willing to work with DM on this) Or just about anything but Waterdeep heist. Type of Gamer I am: I love role play vs roll play, ie big role player generally the split I like is 60% RP 30% combat 10% exploration depending on the game. With combats I like them deadly, but options be left that the party can talk their way out of combat vs actual combat itself. I do not generally enjoy dungeon crawls, though they do have their places within games, but a whole game based on it is a huge turn off for me. I enjoy more serious type of people about the game, but know when to have fun as well and will crack well timed jokes. Turn offs people generally wasting half a session goofing off with BS and people hogging up 3/4 of the game session with silly antics that end up getting the party nowhere. Disclaimer: Those players do have their place with a party provided they are doing within the bounds of their Roleplay, but as long as it is not disruptive to the flow of the game, IE.. a light hearted halfling rogue or bard. Being disruptive for the sake of being disruptive, huge turn off toward player. Final Thoughts: I am a bit of a hard arse, some would think, but it assure that is not the case. I have just been burnt by people burning out DMs with just dumb crap and then DMs go poof. If you are a DM looking for a good serious/slightly light hearted player to form a group with.
