A survey to players and GM

Hi everyone I'm a GM since a long time and i am curious to hear what players find interesting in an adventure. Is it the story? is it the fact that they can start of high level ? Moreover how do people play nowadays ? still the old fashion way or more and more taking advantage of VTT (virtual tabletop)? Since here unfortunately it is not possible to make a poll i set it up HERE on RPGGeek (i hope that is not a problem). I hope to learn something from it and that you will enjoy cheers Gabriele
The quotable moments. "Oh! You had a dream."  and "Pancakes?" are my two personal favorites. The memories. the "You just had to be there." inside jokes.  The social currency that can only be had through shared experiences. Man I really wish I could fix my tokbox storage settings
"Pancakes?" Reminds me of 'secret of mana theater' spirit guide XD lol
Hmm, I did the poll, but it said I had to register. I don't know if it got my results. Honestly too lazy to make an account.
Won't do a poll that only has D&D 3.5, D&D 4.0, and Pathfinder as the only options for what games I play. FATE baby, all day!
Yeah, don't want to register someplace else for a poll. You play mostly with: Pathfinder/Narratives Unlimited d10 You play RPG mainly:  Via Virtual tabletop (e.g. Roll20, Maptool, Fantasy ground etc) What kind of adventures do you like the most?  Grand adventures that my character is integrated with and has a personal take in. As long as I can feel that my character is part of the story, that makes it the best. In an adventure on a scale from 1 to 5 (where 1 is completely useless and 5 foundamental) how important is for you: story(the plot) 4 characters(well built personality) 5 maps(world and battlemap alike) 3 fights(hack and slash)  3 I think to grow my character over time and my decisions are made as part of my character, so they may not always seem like smart decisions because I'll take feats or skills or abilities solely for flavor.
You play mostly with:  D20 systems (Star Wars, d&d 3.5, homebrew Mass Effect), Hero system You play RPG mainly:  Old-school tabletop gatherings, but I'm getting more practice with VT rpg's What kind of adventures do you like the most?  Large-scale adventures with a story that involves my character (usually by incorporating backstory material), but having fleshed-out, recurring and interesting NPC's is an absolute must! I like to kick butt and take names, but I also like to be able to roleplay the relationships that my character develops over the course of the story. In an adventure on a scale from 1 to 5 (where 1 is completely useless and 5 foundamental) how important is for you: story(the plot) 5 characters(well built personality)  5 maps(world and battlemap alike)  2 fights(hack and slash)  4
I filled out your poll on BGG..
You play mostly with:  D20 systems and Apocalypse Worlds (and hacks) You play RPG mainly:  Old-school tabletop gatherings What kind of adventures do you like the most?  What I like in adventures is pretty simple:  I want my character to be in real danger (I don't care about character death) and I want situations to snowball. In an adventure on a scale from 1 to 5 (where 1 is completely useless and 5 foundamental) how important is for you: story(the plot) 5 - With the understanding that story is an artifact of play characters(well built personality)  5 - I'm thinking player characters.  This is where the magic happens. maps(world and battlemap alike)  2 - Interesting if used well, generally get bored w/ maps. fights(hack and slash)  5
You play mostly with:  Hybrid version of AD&D, based on 1st, 2nd, 3.5 and altered versions of 4E content, but none of their rules... + house rules, and a very specific bloody combat location system based off of an old article in White Dwarf for Top Secret. You play RPG mainly:  Google +, Roll 20, Skype. What kind of adventures do you like the most?  We play strictly in the original campaign world for D&D, Greyhawk... our adventures are genre based on the characters... vikings, samurai and the Underdark. We have some elf types, some rangers, bards and druids... but primarily all those characters revolve around the setting and timeline of the war. We don't do random dungeon crawling... In an adventure on a scale from 1 to 5 (where 1 is completely useless and 5 foundamental) how important is for you: story(the plot)  3 - we like the plot, but it's not important enough for us to stick to, if we feel there's another way to end it. characters(well built personality)  5 - character jeopardy is fine, but character death is a big deal, we know we can always resurrect, but we'd rather not go down that road, since CON loss is something we use. As far as character definition, it's everything, without motivation, detail, we'd not be playing with such diversity. With our DM, and 4 other players, 3 of whom have at least 30 characters or more. I have close to 125. maps(world and battlemap alike)  2 - we love these, but again, we'd play on old school paper and pencil, not so important. we do like handouts though, seeing what the enemy looks like, I think that is MORE liked than maps. fights(hack and slash)  5 - as I said before, really bloody high combat game. It's more about strategy for us, and in the thick of it, whether we can stay alive... we know how bad it can get in a matter of seconds. It's not phaser bad, but pretty close. We take A LOT of precautions.
