[LFP][5e] Two Craters homebrew campaigns! 1 PM & 7 PM EDT Thursday (17h GMT)

Hello everybody! I am opening up two new editions of my much-hyped homebrew campaign Two Craters: The Last Continent. These will be two campaigns running on Thursday at 1 PM EDT and 7 PM EDT , starting at level 1. Want to know more about this world? Check out my wiki http://twocraters.wikidot.com/ (work in progress) Want to watch me DM? I have a Twitch channel here: https://www.twitch.tv/dndtotalimprov --- About this campaign: This is a semi-serious, semi-sandbox, semi-storytelling campaign that will take you on a wide variety of dungeon delving, politicking, world exploring, and sidequesting. While a main campaign with set locations is outlined, the party will be driving much of the action forward at their own pace. This is an entirely homebrewed world and campaign, with fully lit custom-drawn maps (or purchased assets, where appropriate). Encounters use a mixture of stock creatures drawn from the compendium and custom-built creatures, all balanced to party level and ability. This campaign will consist of a mix of straight roleplay, straight encounters/dungeons, mixtures of both, politicking and diplomacy, courtroom drama, sea-born melodramas, stealthy hijinx, survival treks, and much much more. You, the party, will decide what to engage with, and how! This campaign starts at level 1, and will go to levels 12-14, using milestone levelling. All 5e canon builds, items, and options are allowed (including Tasha's variants). Homebrew/UA builds will usually be allowed, possibly with some balancing at the DM's discretion. We'll work together to build a character that meshes with the world and also kicks butt! :) This campaign will be run over Roll20, with voice and coordination done through Discord. This is a paid campaign, the first session you join is free . About Me : I am a professional dungeon master with a decade of experience doing theatrical improvisation and stand-up comedy. I run my own Twitch stream of completely improvised D&D one-shots. My strengths most certainly lie in storytelling, worldbuilding, voice-acting, and especially improvisation. However, I do build my own dungeons, encounters, and other mechanical things, and I have few issues diving into the crunch of combat or brewing up some custom items for rewards. If you enjoy a bit of humour and a focus on growing your character and the world around your character, we're going to be like two peas in a pod. --- Sign up for the 1 PM EDT game here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/305764/two-craters-thursday-afternoon Sign up for the 7 PM EDT game here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/305770/two-craters-thursday-evening Interested but these times don't work? I played with Corb for about 6 months in this campaign. Lots of plot twists, but through it all corb displayed professionalism and preparation, in the world and the session. I strongly recommend you give the setting a try, as it was a lot of fun.
Thanks Panda! We're filling up on the afternoon game, but the evening one is still wide open for anybody that wants to join! Here's another testimonial from somebody on my Tuesday campaign: I am very happy with having Salman Corbette as a DM. He has created a homebrew world with oddities and mysteries which I an finding really interesting and want to keep exploring. I also like the fact that the politics of this realm is fleshed out enough to be relevant to us and to the story. For a campaign world which is still being developed the Two Craters world is already pretty detailed. However, he's also flexible when we want to go beyond the established lore. Although my character was (no spoilers) the first of his kind he was able to work him into the story in a way that made sense. As advertised, role-play is one of Salman Corbette's strong points. Our PCs get into some pretty complicated situations which definitely cannot be solved by fighting. Sometimes our role-play is hilarious and other times we get into deeper and more emotional territory, but either way it's always good. He strikes a nice balance between RAW and Rule of Cool in his DM rulings. I haven't had any major disagreements with him and when we did disagree it has all been very respectful. While this is not a combat-heavy campaign, when fights do happen they have been challenging enough. The battle maps are excellent as well. Finally, I like how magic items are handled in this world. They are rare but powerful which makes them seem a lot more special than they are in games with "magic shops" in every town. The most important thing to me is that I feel like our group, including players and DM, are working together to create an interesting story. That's exactly what I was looking for in a campaign. I'm having a lot of fun creating that story. I just wish I had joined this campaign sooner!
Just popping in with another testimonial, Corb is a great DM for both beginners and seasoned players. So far Two Craters has an interesting and well-developed world with adventures to be had and the immersive lore to fill it out. He does a good job of organically including the more quiet players while reigning in anyone going too murder-hobo, and storytelling and combat are well-balanced. The voice acting is tops and things have spanned from very silly to very serious. You should play this campaign.
