Hi guys, looking forward to game restart this evening! :) 5pm UK time. Keelia's work schedule means she can't play beyond UK 8pm/8.30pm max in future, so I was wondering in future weeks if scheduling an earlier start time would work for everyone? Can everyone generally do a 4pm UK start, and play to ca 8pm? Geoff is that 8am for you? :D

Roll20 automatically adjusts the time zones, and I just look on that and it shows me when the game is according to my local time. I won't be able to play on Sept 25 because of my own work schedule. :(

XP for today's game: escape aboleth 1475 find mindflayer's treasure 2000 6 carrion crawlers 2700. Total 6175/6 = 1029 each
Queale has enough XP to train for 5th level, and Fraener is very close to 6th.
Treasure: Ethereal Diadem* +1 elven chain shirt , adamantine breastplate , +2 flail , wand of bull's strength c.7 , +0 rapier, 20 +1 bolts, +0 heavy crossbow, 5 potions of greater healing 4d4+4, and 500 gp. Prying the gold inlay from the chair and desk nets an additional 300 gp. *The purpose of the ethereal diadem (Requires Attunement) is in focusing one’s inner psyche upon the forces of chaos in order to bind and control that chaos. More specifically, the ethereal diadem is the key that activates or deactivates the Obelisks of Chaos, focusing their power upon the heteroclite portal. In order to use the ethereal diadem to shut off the flow of chaotic energy emanating from the Obelisks, a character with Arcana skill must succeed on a Charisma Save (DC 15) to focus their willpower upon the Obelisks, willing them to become dormant. Success means the Obelisk is disarmed. Failing the Charisma save requires the user of the ethereal diadem to make a Wisdom Save (DC 15) or instantly suffer an alignment change to a chaotic alignment, losing 1d4 points of Intelligence and Wisdom permanently in addition.

The +2 flail is a powerful weapon (martial, 1-handed, d8+2 bludgeoning) so one of your warrior types might want to make use of it. The elven chain shirt would be especially good for any light armour PC with DEX 14; and it's not bad (equal to +1 studded) even at DEX 16. The adamantine breastplate might be good for a medium armour PC.
Hi all; I wanted to check if in future Saturday 2pm UK time would be a good start time for everyone? Geoff is 2pm UK/8am your time too early? :D It would let Keelia in Dubai get a good night's sleep for once :D and I could swim after the game without worrying about the pool closing. :)

I won't be available on Sept 25 (work), and maybe not on Oct 9 either. My wife wants to go to the US for a shopping trip that weekend, assuming the Canada/US border is open then.

Thanks Geoff, Norrin can do some guarding the rear. :) OK setting new start time to 2pm from next session.
I've made a Discord text & audio channel for Faerun Adventures - https://discord.gg/RG9W6FPF - might try running game w audio if everyone is up for that. :)
You'll find games go much quicker, I'm sure. Good luck on your next (cand current) adventures!! :D

Loo breaks and such can be more of an issue! :D

Loo breaks and such can be more of an issue! :D I'm willing to give it a shot, just as long as no one is bothered that I don't have a UK accent! Haha! I game on my PC which doesn't have a microphone, and I don't want to use my laptop, which does. I'm looking into a way to adapt my iPhone-compatible headphones with the build-in mic so I can use that. It might just be easier/cheaper to buy a proper headset.
Try the discord app on your phone. The quality should be fine for voice only. Failing that, yeah, probably a decent headset or mic.

Failing that, yeah, probably a decent headset or mic. Discord on phone or laptop, game on Roll20 on desktop PC, ought to work Geoff - once Discord is open (in web browser or app) & you're in the Discord Faerun Adventures chat channel, you can ignore the device hosting it. :) I'm still getting used to playing Roll20 with Discord in the 4e game I'm playing in (fourth session tonight - should level to 2nd if I can survive the pit of zombies!) but apart from problems with using it on Hotel WiFi in peak time, it seems to work very well & reliable. Main thing is remembering to turn it off when you go pee or brew up a noisy cup of tea. :)

I downloaded Discord for my phone. I have a good set of iPhone compatible Sennheiser headphones with a build-in mic that are my main set for listening to music, so I'll just use those, and just carry the phone in my pocket. And then game on the PC. A simple solution and I won't have to buy more stuff. Is there an invitation I need to join the channel?

I've definitely heard players snoring when I DM.
What I like about the concept of running it on my phone is that it’s portable. I can get up from the computer and walk around the house, make coffee, let the dog out, whatever and not miss anything.
Being able to listen in even if unable to see your screen is useful. Helps with RP moments, too.

Hi everyone, I managed to listen in a bit on my phone when I was at work today. It seemed like the voice chat worked good, but for me it was a little weird not seeing what was going on with the VTT. I will be available to play on the 9th at 8:00 am my time, so I hope to see -- and hear -- you all then! I guess I should also get some gaming in, or else everyone is going to catch up to Norrin in XP, haha!

Yeah, I was just thinking Strohm is about to overtake Norrin on the XP!! :)
28/12: i. North to the Carrion Moth caves, in a great battle kill 9 carrion moths & 12 carrion crawlers. A second obelisk proves to be an illusion created by an Aboleth, which takes control of Shivers the Rogue, then Norrin. ii. Group escape the aboleth, returning to find it seemingly absent. Discover the mindflayer's lair and much treasure, including the ethereal diadem. Defeat an ambush by 6 carrion crawlers. iii. With great difficulty, a sanity-blasted Queale uses the ethereal diadem to close down the Heteroclite Portal , ending the Moonfog and destroying remaining carrion moths. The Crawler egg sacs and grubs are destroyed. 1360 DR T1/M1: Queale is taken to the High Druid of Leth for healing & recuperation. Ted experiments with Leth pipeweed (just say no to pipeweed, kids). T3/M1: Ted leads the party in slaying the giant vultures of Dead Man's Hill and recovering Manu's legendary dwarven thrower , along with some remains. The group returns to D'Ashe Manor to plan an expedition to the Fallen Halls of Khundrakar.
Problem with voice chat, of course, is that I can't read up after the fact and follow your adventures. :(
Feel free to listen in https://discord.gg/kEkgZfxA :)
Aw, thanks. I may just do that! :)
