In the Once United Kingdom of Artain, the already fractured noble houses now face a threat which will force them to work together. The proud nation of Beryl and its Noble House have been utterly annihilated by an invasion of Aberrations, abominations from The Void. A Tear in the Veil that separates the Material Reality and the places beyond has been torn wide open... Only an unlikely group of Adventurers can put a stop to it, before the Threat spreads across the whole continent. -Meta Info- -Game is run on Sundays at 7:30pm CST. -This is a currently running game which will continue on for some time. The party is currently level 14 and any who join will be starting at this level. Your character will be an established and important individual to the Setting starting out due to this high power level, however the party still has much room to grow. -You will start with extra starting equipment as well as various magic items. 3 Common Items, 2 Uncommon Items, and 3 Rare Magic Items, along with standard starting equipment and 2500 Gold in pocket money. -I am generous with handing out Magic Items as well as Alternate Rewards. Learning Cantrips or Spells as a reward for minor quests is a possibility that has occurred several times in game. "Reputation abilities", which are Custom abilities like weaker Epic Boons are hand-crafted for each character as they become movers and shakers in the setting, reflecting their unique actions, personality, and history by providing them special powers that augment their existing abilities. Epic Boons/Epic Levels will come into play. -Multiclassing is Permitted. -Stat Generation is 4d6 Drop Lowest place where you want, however after generating a stat line you may replace one of your stats with a free 16. -This game uses Milestone Leveling, using the Three Pillars(Exploration, Roleplay, Combat) to determine when level ups will be granted. -Game Info- -The games setting has a "NobleDark" tone to it. Meaning that dark, 18+ subject matter may be explored. Situations may seem hopeless at times, and the threats you face may be too much to face alone. But through wit, luck, and sound strategy no situation is ever truly without recourse. -Evil Alignments are allowed under the clause that players remain professional and that inter-party conflict is kept to a reasonable minimum. No OOC motivated bullying in-game will be tolerated. Try to build a character that can work in a group, even if they are evil. -This game will not go easy on you. There will be times when not having the right information/rushing in blind can be your downfall or lead to a less than favorable outcome. Some NPCs and factions will manipulate your characters if you aren't careful or paying attention. -This is a Homebrew Setting that I have been running for nearly as long as I've been DMing, which is about 7-8 years at this point. -About the DM- You can call me Weevil, or Dapper! Your Choice. I've been running Tabletop games for a little bit longer than 7 years, in multiple systems. Most of my experience lies in D&D 5e, but I have run several other editions of D&D such as 3.5, BECMI, and 2nd AD&D. I've also run in Non-D&D systems such as Star Wars: FFG, MOTHERSHIP, and Chronicles of Darkness. I run a heavily RP and Narrative Focused game, putting hours and hours of time into plot planning, NPC motivations, integrating character Backstories into the plot, and adapting towards player Choices. My overall goal as a DM is to immerse players into an entirely new world separate from their reality, one which can inspire wonder, awe, terror, and whimsy. Once players are properly immersed into this world, I let them do anything they can to try and change it, following the internal logic of the setting. Player characters have become famous heroes, despised villains, Rulers of Nations, Gods, Demons-Lords, Famous Scholars, and some have even altered the course of reality itself. All of these things are things your characters could do depending on the paths you choose to follow. Despite running an RP heavy game, I make a point to have an expertise with the mechanics of any system I run, and while I do occasionally allow Homebrew or UA content upon review, I put a lot of time into ensuring the mechanical balance of my games, so that everyone has fun. Hand-waving can be fine sometimes, but often if used too laissez faire it can make the game feel cheap, or even worse, trivialize a player character or monsters abilities, thus diluting the experience. I tend to run close to RAW, keeping the DMG nearby for reference at anytime, though I rarely need to reference it due to my familiarity with the systems I run.
