****WARNING: GHOSTS OF SALTMARSH SPOILERS AHEAD**** I am running Tammeraut's Fate from GoS, and honestly I think it would be quite nice, given my player's efforts fortifying their defenses, if I simply couldn't see their tokens during the undead siege unless a monster token can. This simply because I am trying to actively avoid meta-gaming since I obviously know their positions (and my monsters essentially have a hivemind), but it would be nice to simply make it impossible for me to meta-game in extended combat scenarios. Yes, perhaps sometimes I'll need to see their position to determine if their desired action is feasible, etc.; however, that knowledge becomes less useful 2 rounds later. Yes, it requires the DM to be able to trust their players aren't moving further than allowed etc.--a DM that trusts their players shouldn't have an issue w this. Yes, ideally a DM never meta-games. That can be difficult though, with all the accounting we have to do, and when making quick decisions to keep combat moving. I think it would be nice to have such an option to make it more balanced for the players.
