Hello all! My name is Kris (Male/He/Him 35), and Ive been a paid dm for about 4 years now, and currently have 4 other groups I run for but would like to add one more to the mix. I want to first start by saying that Im LGBT friendly, but if the group isnt okay with that, I will restrict same sex relationships, the main reason I started running games (10 years ago) was because a lack of comfortability and not enough player input, so Im extremely open to any sort of discussions when it comes to game management. That leads me to the next thing.... I usually run my own homebrews as I dont like how modules railroad people, but currently have Storm Kings Thunder and the newest The Wild Beyond The Witchlight campaigns from WoTC available on roll20. For my homebrews, I run using DND 5e or Pathfinder 1e, but like to set them in Faerun as I am most familiar with that world, mainly from being a huge fan of R.A. Salvatore novels (Drizzt books). That being said I have numerous homebrews Ive made myself, with various styles in mind, that can cater to pretty much any group. What types of styles? Traditional DND dungeon diving and exploration, High Fantasy worlds with Gods interacting regularly, Low Fantasy where magic is few and far in-between, Romanticized worlds that have players hearts fluttering, Gory 18+ Game of Thrones like themes, Harry Potter-Esque children/early teen stories, Kingdom Building games, Evil Alignment campaigns like rogue/mercenary guilds, and everything in between. What Im saying is, you as a player/group will have a variety of themes to choose from, it will just depend on the group and what they decide as whole. I also tend to run most games very much sandbox style with various npcs and items bringing players back to the main "story arc", but everyone is free to avoid that completely and just live your characters life as you see fit. How do I run my games? To start, I use roll20 for the game itself, with Discord for voice, but I also have many channels inside discord where I like to post NPC photos, various handouts, rules, items/loot, history/setting notes, and more. Im very much of the "new school" style where I use lots of maps, and play music/ambience either through roll20 or Discord to match the setting/mood. It will be pretty rare that you wont have a map to look at whether its a tavern, store, camping map, or whatever, also most maps are real maps, and not just white screens Ive painted over, theyre usually collected from various sources and compiled in the game. I also run very RAW or rules as written, but I do occasionally add in some homebrew to cover things that arent in the books, like monster information rules for 5e, or Background Skills for Pathfinder. I do sometimes abide the "rule of cool", but I try not to sway too much from RAW as I like consistency in my games incase someone plays in another campaign of mine. Not to mention I am very beginner friendly, and I like newbies to know the game as it was written instead of having to relearn it if they play somewhere else. So yes, beginners/newbs are welcome, Im very patient and have taught people of all ages how to play. If we choose to run 5e, I dont allow homebrew classes, but I do have some stuff from Kobold Press and everything else provided by WoTC on roll20 so when you create a character you can just use the charactermancer, with no issues, and no need to fill everything in manually. Sorry, Pathfinder doesnt offer those options, or atleast not good ones. I also use my own macro for player attributes that seems to have a "friendlier" probability rate when compared to 4d6 drop 1, if you dont know what that means, no worries, just means youll have more forgiving stat rolls. I am not a voice actor, but I do very much use voices, I dont ask my players to, but I do it so it makes it easier to distinguish the NPCs from each other.. Plus its fun. :) Availability : Right now I can run Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, any time from 11am Est to 6pm Est, and I generally like to run for about 3-4 hours. How much do I charge? $10 a person, per session, or $40 a month per person. I accept payment through paypal, and session 0 is free. Its that simple, no hassle, no fuss. Please note that Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. I do interview people, its not a first come first serve, I like my groups to fit together, and be able to enjoy each others company. A group of individuals looking for a DM is the most optimal situation, but I can compile a group pretty easily with my years of experience working with a variety of players, Im able to distinguish who will get along with who. Thanks for taking the time to read this, any questions feel free to leave a comment below, sent me a pm here on roll20, or hit me up on my discord @ KrisV#3770
