With the defeat of the Cult on Korthos, the island has now opened up for further exploration, yet the cause of the mysterious winter gripping the Harrowmere has not yet been discovered. In addition to this looming dread, several prominent villagers have been kidnapped, while rumours that the old wizard, Lars Heyton might yet live have given people hope. Are you brave enough to venture out onto the mysterious island, battle the sahuagin and their cultist minions, and bring an end to the winter? Providing he survives the finale, Uriel would rather avoid heading back to Hope. He is led to believe his surly-looking sister has been spotted. I would therefore be keen for this. Uriel's Journal 2nd/3rd Uktar continued Finally, I have time to recount the events of the battle of Korthos. As the warning bells rang, Astra, Gimble, Jereboam, Elotarus and I resolved to defend the town’s Crystal of Warmth. Crucial to the town’s survival, we did everything possible to reinforce the storeroom where the magical artefact was positioned. No sooner had we set up defences than the first of the stinking shark folk charged the store. Wave after wave of scale-covered, acid-spitting, trident wielding Sahuagin poured down the stairs only to crash against Jereboams shield. Blackpowder shot and arcane words felled each of the vicious fish men. Several times the creatures dealt grievous wounds to Jereboam, only for him to rise to his feet with Elotarus’s aid. The beasts sent sneaking shark-like rogues to elude us and destroy the crystal. More fool them, it wasn’t long before these beasts were permanently silenced by Gimble and Astra. Eventually, to spell, sword and a lot of pistol shot, the Sahuagin champion fell. Miraculously we were spared any lasting injuries and were able to join the defence of Korthos Docks. We are not on the best of terms but for whatever reason, I had the Spider Queen’s blessing that day. Reinforcements from Hope arrived before the next assault began. And what strange reinforcements they were. An enormous half-troll (not sure which half was which, and it seemed rude to ask) and a small behelmed rabbit. They claimed to be Lord Ghargh of “Castle Bentfingers” and then promptly knighted Gimble, the wisdom of which I remain unsure of. Lord Ghargh was accompanied by a hardy looking half-orc, well armoured and with a stoic look about him, he was appropriately named Ulag The Silent. We were immensely grateful, as no sooner had we made introductions than yet more shark-folk sprang towards the dock with bloodlust in their eyes. I couldn’t help myself, as they crested the waves and they crawled from the depths it seemed a shame not to entertain some collateral damage. It was very satisfying and despite the thunderous boom the dock didn’t collapse, I am sure it will be fine. Thank Lolth for our new recruits for without them we surely would have perished. Lord Ghargh was as mighty and terrifying as their hulking form suggested, they cut a bloody swathe through the Sahuagin and on several occasions bisected the creatures foolish enough to pose a challenge. Ulag fought valiantly and despite wave after wave of shark-folk, he did not hesitate when confronted by the hulking Sahuagin Champion. He maybe should have, the creature was vicious and if it wasn’t for a twist of fate Ulag would certainly have perished then and there. Gimble revived poor Ulag and with the combined might of Ghargh, Ulag, Jeremboam and several well-placed bullets (credit to Astra) the creature and its forces were defeated. No doubt there are details I have failed to recount, but for now, Korthos is safe. Some well-earned rest is in order.
what an epic tale!

The Amazing Adventures of Gimble Nimblehands : The Korthos Saga Dearest reader… when last we left our intrepid hero, Gimble Nimblehands had singlehandedly* cleared one wing Heyton’s Rest and had authorised the return to the pub so that some of the poor followers who had been injured could be allowed time to rest and recuperate. Without much time to waste though, the ever modest and dashing hero was again leading a group into the tomb to find out what the filthy sahuagin scum were up to! With her modified Gimble2000 firearm, Astra was proving to be a real asset and (almost) capable of matching the mighty Gimble for ferocity and damage to their foes! Uriel the drow time wizard brought another keen mind (not quite as brilliant as Gimble’s mind of course) to bear on the threat. Rounding out the “dark” trio was the mysterious Mivis who seemed equally disgusted and intrigued by the idea of a cult. Sylander, the cleric seemingly unsure of whether he belonged with the dark or with his healing powers devoted to keeping people alive to witness the heroism of Gimble. A mighty warrior in heavy armour and a shock of red hair, Jereboam seemed confident of victory without having experienced the tombs yet. Finally, the Dragonborn bard, Elotarus, was a cheery sight - no doubt keen to witness the mighty deeds of Gimble and possibly to join the list of those wanting to chronicle his exploits… (note dear reader that the coward Bimble had fled the island for the safety of Hope once he realised he could not compare to his amazing brother…) Stalking quietly through the tomb, the group soon encountered more foul cultists and engaged with them. Evil doers fell before the mighty wrath of Gimble and some retreated into another wing and cast a fog cloud to obscure the entrance. A brief standoff followed. Mivis conjured up an illusion to try and draw the enemy out but barely before they had finished casting, the heroes had rushed forward and found themselves in a tight spot until Gimble emerged heroically through the smoke with his “Ghargh” cannon blasting away. Poor Mivis joined just in time to take a filthy sahuagin arcane bolt to the chest and fell to the floor instantly dead. Gimble noted a look of almost grim satisfaction on the drow’s face, no doubt the result of being in combat alongside the mighty gnome hero. Fuelled by the loss of one of the party, the rest of the cultists in the north east wing were soon dealt with. Pausing to catch their breath and mourn poor Mivis, our heroes were almost surprised by the appearance of a mild mannered elf named Avaris who had arrived just in the nick of time for an assault on the south east wing. Learning their lessons from the previous encounters, the party listened to the directions of the heroic Gimble and made a more direct assault. Led by Gimble (shielded slightly by Avaris who had turned into a bear) the room was soon overwhelmed and the final cultists. With three “keys” in hand, the group readied themselves for an assault on what surely must be the source of the cult activity! Alas, the stress of the tomb proved too much and saw the departure of Sylander and Avaris, although they promised to send help when they could! Opening up the mysterious barrier, our heroes rained destruction upon their foes but unfortunately the cultists were able to complete their ritual and raise a malevolent warrior to attack the party. Throwing himself through the clawing tentacles of Hadar, Gimble was soon in the thick of the enemy. With Jereboam occupied several enemies, Uriel attempted to bring their magic missiles to bear, and Elotarus showed he was more than just a pretty wordsmith as he darted in and out among the enemy forces, all while Astra unleashed her bullets at the sahaugin priest. Soon it was all over and despite being quite bloodied, Gimble was able to defeat the cultists* and lead his team back out of the tomb safely. As the party recuperated in the Wavecrest Inn, the mayor once again approached the mighty hero Gimble and outlined a suspected sahaugin plot to assault various areas of the town. Their main targets were likely to be the docks and the magic crystal in the town hall that kept the town warm. Gimble led the party to the town hall and set up the defensive positions. They would defend the crystal or die trying! Wave upon wave of vicious sahaugin filth threw themselves at the doughty defenders and were rebuffed again and again. As their foes waned, there came a cry from the town that there were enemies on their way to the docks and our heroes wearily headed to meet the new threat head on… As they set up positions peering into the dark, Gimble was rewarded for his ongoing heroism! Clearly inspiring loyalty, it seems that Sylander and Avaris had managed to send reinforcements after all. A mighty half orc named Ulag hefted his longsword and shield and took up position alongside Jereboam but to his delight, Gimble saw that the other figure was none other than his “brother”, the one trollkin wrecking ball Lord Ghargh! And with him, the fearless Sir Fluffy Bob! Surely no filthy fish people could stand against such a potent trio! Especially as Gimble was finally recognised for his ongoing heroism with a knighthood... SIR GIMBLE! Again, the sahaugin threw wave after wave at the docks and wave after wave was turned away, the docks littered with the shark men bodies. But as Gimble wearily wiped the sweat from his brow and deployed an impressive alchemical healing “explosion” to his allies, a mighty sahaugin lord burst out of the water and towards the isolated figure of Ulag along with several of his fishy minions. Astra reacted quickly to launch a molotov cocktail and envelop the enemy but it didn’t deter the lord from striking down Ulag despite the time twisting efforts of Uriel and before Lord Ghargh could reach him to aid. Turning it’s attention to Lord Ghargh, the lord managed to render the mighty trollkin unconscious with a set of vicious strikes! As he fell, Lord Ghargh managed to throw Sir Fluffy Bob to safety… as Gimble saw this, he dashed to his “brother”, paying no mind to the lord sneering down at him and managed to heal Lord Ghargh! As Jereboam threw himself into the sahaugin, Lord Ghargh rose and unleashed his own onslaught managing to drive the foe back while Gimble slew another of the minions and dived into the flames of Astra’s molotov to heal Ulag. Emerging from the fire, the tides were finally turning and with Astra and Uriel raining destruction down upon the sahaugin forces, the day was soon won. The mighty lord falling under the onslaught from the whole party. Korthos was saved… for now…

LORD GHARGH FOUND BROTHER GIMBLE!!!! GHARGH FOUND BABY BROTHER!!!  Lord Ghargh have been carrying around this helmet I made for tiny troll brother since he rescued me in the haunted hotel place with the flowers.  Now baby brother won’t have cold head anymore.  I protect his bald little head because I'm a good big brother.  But I have his present for so long, I became a Lord.  And now I make knights for people.  Like Sir Fluffy Bob.  Sir Fluffy Bob is first knight of our new castle fort. I miss funny blue guy.  That was sad.   BUT I FOUND BABY BROTHER GIMBLE!   I looked and looked and looked for months and one day I looked on a boat.  And then the boat left.  And Sir Fluffy Bob and I sailed and sailed.  I like the water but I not learn to swim, so I scared a little.  But Sir Fluffy Bob never scared so Ghargh not scared too! We sailed and sailed more and then we arrive at island.  I not know this island but other guy get off boat with me.  Me and Sir Fluffy Bob get off boat and IT’S TINY BABY GIMBLE BROTHER!!!!! GHARGH SO HAPPY!!!!!!   I run and hug and go round and round and round with brother Gimble because I love him so much and I looked for him for so long!  Gimble happy too because he make happy squeal noises when Ghargh hug him.  Then I put tiny Gimble down and take out my greatsword to give him his surprise….LORD GHARGH MAKE BABY GIMBLE KNIGHT TOO!!!!    Now it’s SIR Baby Brother Gimble! Hahahaha.  Like Sir Fluffy Bob.  Lord Ghargh make army.  Ha! I hit brother Gimble on shoulder with sword and give him helmet I made him all by myself.  Is beautiful helmet.  Ghargh work hard on it.  Baby Sir Gimble look so good in it.  He put it on right away because Ghargh such a good brother.  But why Sir Brother Gimble look like he in a fight?   OH THEY IN A FIGHT?!!!!  NO!  No one hurt baby brother Gimble Sir! The Defence of Korthos part II:  All Hail the mighty Ghargh! as told by Jereboam   The last time we spoke I told you of the battle of the basement, where we sent many a sea devil back to hell.  Barely was the fight over than we heard fresh commotion at the docks.  Battered and bruised as we were, there was nothing for it but to run toward the fight. We were down to four by this stage.  Me, Astra the gunslinger, Uriel the wizard and of course the mighty Gimble and his cannon.  Running for the docks I don’t mind saying I thought I was running towards certain death.  Fortunately, the noise was the arrival of a boat with some reinforcements.  They were a Half Orc warrior we came to know as Ulag the Silent and a huge half troll who immediately pulled ‘little brother’ Gimble into a huge bearhug!  Turns out the Ghargh isn’t just a mystical cannon but also a mighty warrior. We barely had time to exchange greetings before the first wave of sea devils attacked.  We saw off the first wave pretty easily but then things got complicated as we were caught in a pincer movement between more Sahaughin coming from the sea and cultists attacking us from land. Everyone did their part and none less than Ghargh who was an absolute mountain of destruction.  Still the savage attacks of our foes were wearing us down and it got to a point where a mighty sea devil champion felled the brave Ulag (silent he stood, and silent he fell) and Ghargh and I were practically on our knees.  At our darkest hour the clever Gimble came to the fore, throwing a glowing grenade that healed most of us and gave us the courage to continue the fight. Ghargh eventually felled the mighty champion and someone else tended to the wounded Ulag, sparing him from the foul embrace of death.   The docks were secure and by the sound of it the brave villagers managed to push back the attack on the inn.  The field was ours!  Not much to say after that.  We had some celebratory drinks at the inn (what was left of it) and considered our next move.  I think most will stay on the island but I think it’s time for a change of scenery.  I have yet to explore Hope and that sounds like an interesting place.  After that who knows?  I’m just a simple soldier going to wherever the next battle promises to be.
