thinking of buying the DM starter bundle, but..

If I purchase these books from Roll20, will it put the items in these books in the compendium? Or will my players STILL have to input all that stuff into their character sheets manually? I already own these books, and many more. Im not going to buy them again if the monsters/weapons/backgrounds/etc arent going to be easily dragged and dropped on to the character sheets of my players. Its already $80, if its not going to provide convenience, its a waste for me

All info will go into the Compendium and be available to you and the players in games you create. All of the player races, classes, spells, backgrounds and so forth will be available for choice in the Charactermancer. All monsters will have artwork, lore, tokens, etc. I would say that bundle is a good deal if you want the adventure stuff. If you are just after the two main books (PHB & MM), you could save $10 by buying them separately at $29.99 each. You would still get the PHB art pack, and I'm not sure if the Essentials  Compendium really provides anything you wouldn't get from the other books.
