
Game : The One Ring 1e Group type : Online, Voice only (Discord, Roll20) Location/Timezone : AEST Schedule : Fortnightly. Friday 8:30pm, approx 3 hours. Roles sought : 1-2 players, 18+. No experience necessary. Basic understanding of Lord of the Rings/Tolkien lore probably beneficial, but plenty of my players haven't had any, and it's still been great. Game style: Largely theatre of the mind. Voice on Discord. Travel maps on Roll20. Combat is visually represented, but not on tactical grid maps like in D&D. Gameplay is largely RP, problem solving, investigation, exploration. Combat doesn't necessarily happen every session, and it's not always the best solution to problems. The One Ring is set chronologically between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. Our story currently takes place in the regions far to the North of Rivendell, in Angmar, the ancient kingdom of the Witch King. Angmar has lain ruined and silent for more than a thousand years. But what evil has now come to the North that so emboldens orcs to come down from the safety of their mountains to threaten the free people, and all manner of nameless things long-banished to return?
