Link creation in handouts not working with [ ] anymore

Earlier this week I was creating a handout for my players to see what was available at the market ingame. I was simply using the  [ ] with the associated handout name in those, like this    [Item Handout Name] and it created the link for them to click and open the handout. Yesterday I tried to do the same thing in the same game and it doesn't work anymore, no link added. Did something change with Roll20 that I don't understand? thank you

Have you tested on multiple handouts? It could be something as simple as the handout having a space at the end of the name.

Linking that way still works for me.  You might want to check that you don't have any journal entries (handouts and character sheets) that use the exact same name.  That can confuse the linking process, though years back when I encountered that, it would still link to one of them (the oldest entry of the name, I think).  I don't know if that behavior has changed over time or not.

Depending on where you copied from there could be issues. Example: if the handout name is bolded, but one or more of the brackets is not, the invisible html formatting characters will break the linking process.
