Quest Details: Local legend talks of a vast series of mist-shrouded barrow mounds at the heart of the Ettinheights. Remnants of some long forgotten empire, this extensive network of burial mounds and tombs is rumoured to be so awash with wealth that only its vaunted undead guardians have kept it pilfered all these years. Bold adventurers wanting to strike it rich quick would do well to consider an expedition into the Ettinheights to plunder the riches of the long dead. Barrowmaze III: The Baloo Hullabaloo  As told by Wilmott Groot   Crikey! After the adventures of last time, I decided to head back to Hope for a bit of a kip and a decent feed.  It wasn’t long, however, before the old itchy feet wanted me heading out into the wilderness again.  I decided to look into what was happening in the Barrowmaze cause I was pretty sure some of us were still there. On heading out I was joined by a dwarf called Tordak.  I struggled to understand his accent but he was a real nice bloke, really experienced.  I reckon he should have rested up in Hope a little longer, but, cause he just looked tired all the time. We made it to the same barrow we explored last time without any problems and climbed down the rope.  We wandered around and coo’eed for a bit before we lucked onto the rest of the crew.  Let me do the intros. We had Bean the Tabaxi and it was nice to see a familiar face.  We also had Shane a creepy looking Serafu warlock.  There was a tough looking goblin called Gaz Rotgut and an even tougher looking Bugbear called Baloo.  Finally there was a fellow Halfling called Isssa.  who was jumpier than a kid with salted undies!   With so many of us I was feeling real confident, what could go wrong? A pretty F#%#$ lot as it turned out.  We headed East and entered a large room with doors and corridors leading off in a few directions.  I had the bright idea to search for traps and found a concealed pit by nearly falling into it.   It was a nasty piece of work with lots of spikes at the bottom and a body impaled on one of the spikes. “Where there’s a body, there’s a wallet in need of a new owner” as my granny used to say.  I volunteered to be lowered down a rope to have a bit of a shufti.  Wouldn’t you know it, the bloody body was an undead and it came the raw prawn with yours truly.  Before I knew what was happening I was bleeding out my life’s blood in the bottom of the pit. It could have been the end of my story right there and then but luckily my new mates came to the rescue, offed the skeleton and healed the worst of my wounds.  I pulled my head in a little after that, let me tell you! We headed up a corridor going North and found some filled in doorways.  A bit of excavation unearthed some zombies and we had another fight on our hands.  I hung back and pinged away with my bow but I wasn’t at my best to be honest. Someone else who was sub par was Shane the dodgy looking Serafu.  When things got a little hot with the zombies he hollered his head off and inflicted some nasty psychic damage on anyone who was nearby, friend or foe!   Remind me not to stand near that bloke! The walking dead didn’t have much loot to speak of so we resumed heading North and ran across a rubble filled room.  Before we knew what was happening a huge snake reared up and bloody obliterated Baloo!  One second he was there and the next second the bugger was a thing spray of mist and poison. We quickly got busy after that, let me tell you.  Everyone did their bit and we managed to kill the effin huge snake in relatively short time.  There was a good bit of loot at least but frankly I wish Baloo was still alive to share it with us.  Still, when one door closes another one opens as they say and we were soon joined by another crazy fool seeking adventure.  This guy was a Tabaxi bard called Ryck Ashtley.  There was something strangely familiar about him, I think he wrote a popular song some years back.   Anyway, we were getting pretty bushed at this point and after discovering a shrine to Nergal we decided to call it a day and head back to Hope.  We passed a room  where we could hear a bunch of people plotting away at something but we decided to leave it for next time. Luckily we got back to Hope safe and sound, though I got bloody sick of Ryck playing the same song over and over again.  This adventuring malarky is pretty dangerous but what’s a halfing to do.  I’ve got itchy feet something bad and now I’ve got a taste for danger as well.  No idea what I’ll do next, but.
Hahaha,  great write-up. Ryck is Tabaxi though ;)
Oops!  I'll fix that right now!
