Interest Check Ars Magica

I may be interested trying to run Ars Magica again (5th Edition) probably on a weeknight, sometime around 6-7 start time. I'm in AZ time, and we don't have daylights savings time, and I'm currently equivalent to PST. For those that aren't aware, Ars Magica is a game about Medieval Magi and their companions, living their lives out as they work magic and deal with various adventures, adversaries and the like. It's essentially Wizard Sim the game. It's also a troupe role playing game, so you play multiple characters (1 Magi, 1 Companion, and a central pool of minor characters called grogs). If anyone is interested, feel free to post or PM me.

I would be keenly interested in playing if the game night ends up being Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. I had a glance at the rules of Ars Magica a few years ago, but that might have been an older edition. I'd be happy to buy the pdf and quickly learn the current rules. I know nothing about the metaplot of the game, but 12th/13th century history is a subject that I study.

Cool, I can take you through the metaplot easily enough. It's a game for which I have TOO many books for...but I do love it. I'd be willing to help anyone new to the system.

I really like the idea of being an insane mage and his henchmen. I'd be a complete newbie, but I am very much interested in playing.

Indeed. I'm thinking Wednesday or Thursday might be the best night for me, followed by Monday. I'd prefer Thursday, given work will not ever explode and keep me late that day, but Wednesday is still good. Anyone else interested?

Cool. Well, we will definitely be using the core, and the House (True Lineages/Mystery Cults/Houses of Hermes) books. We can also use Covenants, and the book which ever tribunal we choose. You only need the core however, though the other three are helpful. I may use the other books myself on my end to help build plots and so forth. Beyond that, I'm open to ideas from other books, but I would A. Appreciate you owning that book, and check to see if I own it first. Just to make sure I understand where you are coming from. B. Do it sparingly, as not everyone can afford every book. And I think that makes four people interested...I think that's enough to get going. Time to try and get everyone's info. If you are interested, please PM your Skype Address, and we can start discussing the game, and start initiating the new players.
