Dragon activity has suddenly risen in areas all along the Sword Coast and outlying areas of Faerun. Numerous groups and factions have convened to discuss and plan for this unprecedented phenomenon. At the same time, dark forces are working to bring to fruition a cataclysmic event revolving around Tiamat and her chromatic offspring. Most concerning is a white dragon that has made it's lair somewhere in the Sword Mountains. The small mining settlement of Phandalin and the surrounding area hangs under threat of the mighty beast. If that wasn't bad enough, the roads leading to Phandalin has been riddled with goblins raiding and attacking traveling caravans with the attacks starting up around the same time the dragon was seen circling the area. The Speaker has offered rewards for any adventurers willing to aid the town with their plight. This campaign will start off with a revised version of Lost Mine of Phandelver and Dragon of Icespire Peak acting as a prelude to The Red Hand of Doom module from 3.5 and finally The Rise of Tiamat. This campaign is intended to take your character from Low tier to the High Tier levels. With the release of Fizban's I wanted to start up a new long term adventure heavily focused on dragons and their destructive power. If you love dragons and the new sourcebook you'll definitely want to take part in this campaign. [Technical Requirements] The game will be played on Roll20 with voice/video handled through Discord so make sure you have an account with both. There's no requirement to be on camera but you must have a decent enough mic for me and the other players to hear you. [About Me] When it comes to paid games I believe the DM should be transparent about what they offer and what their intents and motivations are. Personally, I love DND. Been playing and DMing for over 5 years now and ever since the pandemic hit I’ve started running paid games as a way to help pay the bills while doing something I love. Ever since I started doing this the games I run are much more enjoyable, not just for me but also the players in my groups. Attendance is never an issue since there’s a financial stake and I’ve never canceled a game due to lack of players. Also thanks to the money I receive I’ve been able to upgrade my roll20 sub to pro allowing me to utilize API, dynamic lighting, and purchasing of assets/modules/and other fun goodies that help make the game run smoother. At the end of the day, I’m just so happy that I can run these games knowing attendance is never a problem. One of the worst feeling as a player or DM is getting excited for the next game only to have it be cancelled at the last minute or even worse get ghosted by a promising DM. That’s the main reason I run paid games: I just want to play consistent weekly games! I’ve definitely benefited from the payment I receive but knowing my players are gonna show up each week has been the greatest benefit by far. If you'd like to learn more about me and my DMing style feel free to ask or check out my Startplaying profile. https://startplaying.games/gm/ericdee11 [Reserving a Seat and Payment] All payment will be handled with Startplaying.games so please make sure you're signed up and have a valid method of payment on file with the site. Once a primary interview is conducted with me and you get approved I'll add you to the game. An hour before the scheduled game time your payment method will be charged the agreed upon rate. (I also accept Paypal as a payment method but Startplaying.games does everything automatically so it's preferred you use the site. If you want to use Paypal just let me know.) [Character Creation and Session 0] The rules for character creation are simple: You will create a 1st or 3rd level character -Use published races and classes. No homebrew or UA options. -Use point buy for ability score. -Your starting equipment is the same whether the group begins at 1st or 3rd level. -The gods Bahamut and Pelor play a big part in the scope of the adventure so holy warrior characters who are considering deities are encouraged to follow one of the two gods. The adventure requires your PC to be willing to work together with a fellow group of special individuals poised to fight back against the forces of evil and prevent a cataclysmic event. While your PC could have selfish motives or may act in their own interest, characters that work against the goals of the party will not be allowed. This means no murder hobo or evil aligned characters that would act against the interests of the party.
