I would like there to be built-in support for referring to specific squares by name (e.g. "I move to G5"). Currently, only hex grids support coordinate labels. This could be implemented in two ways: Labels on the top/left edges of the screen (like a spreadsheet editor). If a user scrolls or zooms in, these labels should always remain visible. Labels written inside each square, similar to the hex grid labels. I would personally prefer the first implementation. <Insert El Dorado "both is good" meme> Possible workarounds Use an image to display labels on top of the map (I created and posted one here ). This requires manual setup for every page, and does not remain visible if a user scrolls or zooms away from the top/left edges. Use hex maps with the label feature. However, I would expect that more people want to use square grids (it's the default grid after all). Similar suggestions This post suggests adding the labels inside the squares (implementation option two). Two-part suggestion that includes the same idea. A final thought on where this setting should be configured The current hex grid label feature is set in the page settings by the DM (i.e. players cannot change it). Please consider allowing every user to control the coordinate label for themselves, so they can choose which coordinate display option they prefer (label in square, label on screen edge, or no labels).
