Roll20 games not loading on Chrome at all, and have not been for at least two weeks

Two weeks ago, I logged in to play in my regular game, and discovered that it wouldn't load. I get a little loading comment, like "crafting spells list" or whatever, but it remains stationary after the point. The chat does not pop up. It's just a black screen. I tried loading other games on my account with no luck, tried clearing my cache and cookies, still with no luck, checked all of my extensions (nothing there has anything to do with Roll20, and I don't have anything out of the ordinary,) and after twenty minutes or so, gave up, downloaded Firefox, and found out that luckily it loads there. I submitted a bug report, and figured that like it does for a lot of people, it would fix itself before long. Well, like I said, it's been two weeks, and now here I am, getting very impatient. I did some more tests. I tried opening it in an incognito tab. Nothing. I even realized I had an old account that I had forgotten about, attached with another chrome account entirely. I tried opening that game. Same issue. I've tried google searches, to see if other people are experiencing this, and their solutions are not working for me. I really don't want to have to rely on a separate browser that I didn't particularly want in the first place, in order to play my game.  Has this issue happened before? Is it a problem with my Chrome program or computer specifically? Are there any fixes that I haven't come across while searching around?

I ran my 13th Age Glorantha game in the latest Chrome on Thursday as usual with no problems. So I suspect your Chrome is the problem.  You should follow the troubleshooting steps in the Help Center and possibly create a ticket for help.

Help Center Request  is the way to go.

I have a player in one of my sessions who had an ad blocker that had nothing to do with roll20 cause issue.  You should atleast attempt to run roll20 on a browser that has all extensions cleared or even try to flatten and clean out your browser as none of us have your problems so its clearly a problem with your pc.

I have a Chrome account with absolutely no extensions on it, or bookmarks or anything. Same issue there. :/ Could uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome potentially do anything? I'd really rather not, but I really don't know what else to try at this point.

Yes it could help, as that would clear all caches and cookies. You could try doing those steps on your own without cycling the existence of Chrome itself, though. I know you said you cleared them already, but just making sure you didn't clear suspect cookies, but all cookies. You could also try clicking on the lock icon in the URL while on Roll20 and clear all cookies from there, as well as reset permissions. Since you can log in with Firefox, that points to some Chrome-related issue. Did you ever get a response from your  Help Center Request ?

I did clear all caches and cookies, but just in case, I tried your suggestion and did it specifically for roll20 just now, as well as reset permissions. I also tried disabling all extensions, just in case something mundane was somehow interfering, and none of those worked either. :/ Unfortunately I haven't gotten a response yet, aside from the basic one just saying they received my request. That was November 1st. I understand they're backed up right now, so I'm not too upset AT anyone about the delay, or anything, but this is frustrating all the same. I really appreciate that you've been offering ideas. If we run out of options here, I'll at least feel less silly for making a thread, since that will probably mean it is in fact something weird and buggy happening. Since it only seems to be happening to me, I think it must be SOME kind of user error, or issue with my specific laptop, but I really don't do anything too crazy with my computer! I'm just truly baffled about why this is happening on all my chrome accounts on this laptop. Next thing I'll have to test is maybe trying to log in on chrome on someone else's computer, just to see what happens, but I don't really see that answering any questions. Just a big mystery, I guess.
Update: I was poking around on my account, and came across the last bug thread I made three years ago, in which Advanced Fog of War wasn't working. A fix someone recommended, (that worked for this entirely unrelated problem,) was enabling hardware acceleration in my browser. I remembered that I disabled it several months ago, because it interferes with recording chrome, so on a whim I thought I'd enable it again to see if it fixed the issue. It did the trick! My game is finally loading. This is an imperfect solution, because I turned it off for a good reason, and Roll20 has definitely worked fine in the past without it (aside from the FoW issue from before,) but in the meantime I can finally play my games on my preferred browser again. I'll take the win, even with the cost.

Hey Jennifer, I'm glad to hear you were able to get it working and thank you for including information about what fixed it for you! As for the support request you sent in we show a response on our end. We've found that occasionally these replies get lost in spam filters and the like however so ultimately with the problem fixed all I can really do here is apologize that you didn't get the reply. We're much less backed up than we've been in the past so please don't hesitate to reach back out through the help center if you need anything in the future.
