Hullo! Some players from another long-term campaign and I are looking to start another campaign, so I'm looking for 2-4 more players to jump in. We'd love to have a small group or a couple of/few friends join together. This would be every other Sunday evening, starting in the afternoon or evening, about 4-7 PM Central Time, 3-4 hour games. The games do contain adult content and humor, but I want everyone (18+) to feel completely comfortable at my games, so friendly to all lifestyles and nationalities! New players are always welcome! I love introducing new people to 5e. I've been DMing off and on for about 20 years, and pretty consistently since 5e was released. I usually set campaigns in the Forgotten Realms, but I have started to run some in my own loose world (plenty of worldbuilding left to do, love having groups chip in to that!). I try to steer pretty close to RAI ("rules as intended," for new people), but also try to facilitate cool player moments at the right time. I'm definitely not an adversarial DM, I like my players to shine, so I tend run more "heroic" campaigns. I love a good balance of roleplay and combat. The pacing and how often fights occur will have a lot to do with the players. Typically, I'd say 66% of my sessions have combat, but definitely not all (again, depends on the campaign and the group too). I don't do homebrew races, classes, or subclasses, but we can reskin anything to anything. Your monk can be called a "brawler" and they can have "grit points" instead of ki points, we can substitute some elder Dragon for a Djinn or Fiendish patron, etc. Anything from the Player's Handbook, Dungeonmaster's Guide, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Fizban's Treasury of Dragons, and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount is in for sure, but if you want something else that's published and it fits the world well enough, it's probably okay (those are just the books I own and can easily reference). Now, what campaign? For this, I'd like to get the group together to talk about it. I run published campaigns, but I change things quite a bit to make it my own and to fit the group. If I can, I'lll incorporate player backstories into the campaign, or if the player would rather, have side stories for their character. Feel free to DM me or reply with any questions!
