How's it going everyone! I am an experienced player, with years of DND. I am currently DMing a game on Sunday, and have a prior engagement every other Wednesday. I would love to have a game to just be a player in though! I have had a character for a while now that I have just been itching to play and haven't had the opportunity. This character could be edited to fit a setting more specifically obviously, but the core concept just seems like so much fun to role play! TLDR she was a human wizard, but then lost her site and made a deal with a Djinni that rebooted her into an Air Genasi (or Tasha's Custom as I think that actually makes more RP sense for this character funnily enough lol) level 1 (or campaign level) Genie Warlock. She won't be a multi-class, as I said she's really more of a narrative and fun character than a power build one. Adalene Fortescue was a very accomplished Human Archeologist and Scribe Wizard. During her tenure with a certain prestigious university, she uncovered untold wonders and magical items! The sites she saw. The trapped tombs, the dead riddled crypts, the puzzles of antiquity. It was enough to busy anyone for a lifetime... which it did for her. In her late 80's, the accomplished woman's site started to dim. Desperate, unable to find a solution (other than a very messy necromancy fascination she'd seen end poorly for too many in the ages), she began to turn her attention to myths. A noble Djinni, imprisoned by a mad king so long ago that even their name had faded from legend. Adalene had nothing to lose, and so she made her way to the deserts of the legends. To avoid getting too specific here, she undergoes many trials and tribulations to find, and then eventually free this Djinni queen. Bleeding from what would be fatal wounds from this quest, Adalene pleaded with this Djinni now she was free. She pledged her life in service, all of her intellect and anything the Djinni required to be granted her true request. The elemental, having seen through her containment, the depths of the old wizards will and cunning, swore her into her service. Adalene's site went entirely dark... She awoke several hours later in a desert bazar, clutching a very small bottle, her sight more clear than it had been in years. Finding a nearby pool she glanced her reflection. She knew now that the Djinni had granted her wish. She was young, if not in her original body. Adalene felt strong, and although her previous magic didn't seem to function, her patron had given her an acceptable substitute. Her life had changed now, and she would make good by her promises to the Air Goddess.
