Hold space to pan, release to reselect the tool from before

Hi, as i am regulary working on different graphical tools i am really missing the possibility to pan the map just by keep one button pressed while moving and after releasing this button (usually space) beeing back on the tool I used before! Especially when i am drawing walls on the dynamic lighting layer I often need to pan the map while drawing the actual wall and this would be super helpful!
