DWARINN'S DOWNTIME Dwarinn travels with his companions to Bard's Gate. While he is there, he finds his clansmen and stays with them for the early winter, training and drinking and telling tales of his recent exploits. His clansmen are impressed with his bravery and accomplishments! They throw him a feast for slaying the umbral vampire and two-headed giant. I will add +2,000 XP to your total. Subtract your gold. After conducting research at the College of Mages, you learn that there are several small colonies of dwarves and gnomes that have settled in the Stoneheart Mountains, which seems to lie due north of Fairhill and northwest of Bard's Gate. There are rumors of great mineral wealth in those mountains. The dwarves and gnomes have grown wealthy selling the rich veins of ore that they have extracted to the smithies in the Free City and beyond. In particular, the largest colony is called Rubyhole on the east side of the mountain range. It is friendly to the Free Folk. In fact, anyone trying to buy magical weapons and armor there automatically succeeds at finding such items without needing to make a Persuasion check! They are sold there like regular mundane items, without complications. (But the asking price is the same as usual depending on the item's rarity.) Continuing with your research, you discover some grave news: in the mining town of Taverlan to the north, it is reported that blood-soaked skeletons have been pillaging isolated farmsteads and camps in the hills west of that town. The local militia has seen a trail of such skeletons traveling like a caravan down the river from the northwest. They stick to the southern bank. In fact, the mayor of the mining town is offering a 500 gp reward to any mercenary who ends the threat permanently. Finally, after doing a little digging in Feriblan's library, you find an ancient tome which speaks of "crimson" or "blood-soaked" skeletons. They seem to be produced by an ancient and sinister ritual created by the priests of the demon-lord of the undead. The text continues explaining how the Orcusites of the long-ruined city of Tsar, just before the destruction of the city, would defile and desecrate the holy crypts of their own ancestors by performing a mass-sacrifice of at least six virgin girls. When they finished the ritual, they were able to create a fountain of cursed, bubbling blood, and filling it with the bones of the dead, they could create armies of these vile creatures. You also manage to successfully scribe two arcane scrolls. And finally, while spending time at the College doing your research, you meet a wizard named Tuvio . When carousing, you happen to run into Tuvio while drinking heavily at the Blazing Bones. At one point during the night, when Tuvio is extremely drunk trying to teach you how to cast a fireball spell, he nearly lights a big half-orc's pants on fire. The half-orc gets two of his buddies and they try to murder Tuvio in the alleyway outside the Blazing Bones. But because of your quick-thinking and skilled response with the hilt of your axe, the thugs get the snot beaten out of them, and you save the poor mage's life. The next morning, you receive a letter by courier from him where he states how grateful he is to your help and offers to assist you in any way that he can sometime in the future whenever you need it.
@Byron : You cannot carouse with them as you are not permitted in their village. They will come out and trade with you, if interested, and they won't shoot you on sight, but that is pretty much it.
Ok I then just fly about and try to find the skin shifters territory. Want me to make some checks? End of Downtime!
@Byron : Flying about is not going to reveal anything's territory. The forest is too vast. It would be like finding a needle in a haystack. And even if you did wander into it, you wouldn't know it.
@Stan : Sorry, I forgot to mention your second allied contact that you picked up from carousing. While drinking with your dwarven brethren, a burgher of the Gem Cutters and Jewelers Guild named Borm Morgarm strikes up a friendship with you. Although you know this older dwarf's name and have met him a few times, this particular night is the first one where you both actually spent some time together. Turns out you both share some common interests: like drinking, for example! After quizzing each other's knowledge on gnomish craft beers, and finding each other's answers suitable, you both strike up a friendship, and near the end of the night, you pay for Borm's significant bar tab. (He forgot his coin purse in his gemcutting shop!) Refusing to impose upon the fellow dwarf a loan, he offers you a future favor.
Lowered stuff so I am not over encumbered!

If no one wants it, I will buy the trident for 400gp
ATTENTION: Everybody please post your downtime actions for the single workweek that you spend between last session and the upcoming one. Ron, you don't really get a downtime activity, but you can still post if you want, describing your character's return to life, self-reflection on his recent death, etc. (your chance to build on your character's internal story arc).

Lifestyle Poor (12sp) Beau will ask if he can sleep in the blacksmiths forge. He will trade songs and stories with Arielle Side Actions Beau will call in his two favors with Shandril. He also asks if she has any items for sale. 1. Have Hunter Raised 2. Ask Shandril to teach me any formula she knows on how to craft any magical items. ( I think she made the the dwarf's sword) Beau will take the 5 tonics he made and 3 he has (some where away from others) and combine them using mage hand. So he now will have 4 newly mixed tonics. He will then identify them. Downtime Brew Healing Tonics Time: 1 Day each (making 5) Cost: 25gp (125 for 5) Result: Beau will have 5 minor Haling Tonics

@Byron : You are spend a workweek (5 days) in downtime, not 6 days. So you can only make 5 potions at 125gp. You also only spend 12sp for your poor lifestyle.

BEAU'S DOWNTIME ACTIVITY Housing : Voril seems uncomfortable agreeing to your sleeping in the forge area, but neither does he seem comfortable arguing with you about it either, so he holds his tongue. To avoid breathing in the hot smoke from his forge, you spend your days in the Drunken Cockatrice with any of your companions who are willing to spend their days with you. Long walks, as well, become routine portions of your day to avoid being in Voril's way while the man works. Arielle does spend some time with you to avoid being impolite, and both of them have you over for dinner each night where they make sure you are fed, where they do seem to enjoy your company. But breakfast and lunch are on you. And as the end of the week continues, you begin to see that you might be invading their privacy and imposing on their lives in a way that will not long endear them to you, if you keep it up. Favor : Shandril does not sell any items save for healing potions to help support the temple. When you ask about recipes for magic items, Shandril thinks for a moment, and then offers you the formula for a periapt of health . She writes down the recipe on a slip of parchment, rolls it up like a scroll, and hands it over to you. On the paper, you see that you need "water of the purest form, which hails from (or has been touched by) the Elemental Chaos." Potion Brewing : @Byron , I'm actually seeing that you are not able to craft potions. The magic item crafting activity says that you need proficiency with a herbalism kit. You do not have proficiency with such a kit on your sheet, my friend. Am I missing something?
@Byron : If you are not able to brew potions because you lack proficiency with a herbalism kit, then your previous downtime action (the one you did a few months ago on the very first page of the downtime activity forum) where you crafted five healing potions needs to be retconned. Remove those items from your sheet and give yourself back the 125 gp that you spent on them, as well.

I wrote it down wrong, I labeled it Healing Kit. There is not proficiency with the Healing Kit. I fixed it to Herbalism Kit as it should have been. Sorry about that. If Beau senses he is imposing, he immediately stays in the stables at the Drunken Cockatrice like he usually does. Now that I know a formula for the periapt of health , what component do I need to make it?
@Byron : Roger. Okay, here are the effects of your four mixed potions after you cast identify on them. Three potions - both effects still work (so double healing when those mixed potions have been drank, 4d4+4). One potion - loses one effect (so only a normal healing potion, 2d4+2). Component already stated above: On the paper, you see that you need "water of the purest form, which hails from (or has been touched by) the Elemental Chaos."
DWARINN'S DOWNTIME ACTIVITY Shandril seems surprised that you share her faith, Dwarinn (and even more that you, as a dwarf, would be willing to spend so much time with her!), but still, she welcomes your assistance for the week at the Temple. While you are there, you see that the elf is very attentive to the people of Fairhill: she blesses newlywed girls with fertility; she spends at least one day per week braving the cold outside while walking through the town's dormant farmlands and praying for the goddess's blessing over them for an abundant harvest in the coming year. At one point, Biggs and Wedge (two of the town guardsmen) get brought in to the Temple for healing. Apparently, they both ran into a pack of "evil toad men" who shot at them with bows. Of the pair, Biggs seemed to have borne the worst of their wounds. Shandril healed both men and saved Biggs's life. (Write down on your character sheet that Shandril owes you one favor for helping her this week.)

From the shadow world of death, for days I was hunted by the dark souls of this realm. I have felt what it is like to be the hunted, I have felt the true definition of a relentless hunt. Knowing that this would not ever stop, I decided to face my foes, as I stood in their realm, they gathered around me, so many of them. As they all charged at me from every direction with their last battle cries of their hunt, a large beam of light came down and wisped me away. I awaken in a strange room sore and tired.
Beau now has 4 of the Tarpaulin Grey Potions (act as greater healing potions 4d4+4) he will mix those some place safe using mage hand.
@Byron : The first mixture results in both potions losing their effect entirely. Now you just have a syrupy potion that tastes very sweet. The second mixture fairs only slightly better: one of the potions loses its effect, while the other one stays active. Where you once had four healing potions (4d4+4 each), you now have only one healing potion (4d4+4). @Mal : Eisen begins making a name for himself as "the guy you wanna gamble with."
I would like to train to my next level since I have enough exp points. I figure that would take a couple of days. I do not know how long we are taking on down time yet but I think it will be at least a week.
@Ron : Once you have enough XP, you auto-level as soon as you take a long rest. No training time is needed.

@Stan : What is a "blue dragon spiked shield"? What source book does that appear in? I can't find it in the Compendium.
@Mal : What kind of work is Eisen doing during this downtime? Always make sure to be as descriptive as possible. This is meant to be immersive story-telling! :D
@Byron : Your XP total has been updated in the Session Rewards handout.

@Rob to find it you type dragon in the search bar, and scroll almost all the way down until you see Feats . There you will find the Dragon Smith Feat , from Midgards Heroes Handbook , open the feat to get the details of the shield. Let me know if it's allowed or not. Thanks
@Stan : Okay, I found it. So the base cost of a lizardfolk's spiked shield would be 20 gp. It doesn't list a lizardfolk's spiked shield price in the SRD anywhere, so I'm simply going to add +10 gp to the base price of a normal shield. You are trying to track down a spiked shield made from blue dragon parts. This multiplies the base price by x10. Now your blue dragon spiked shield costs a base price of 200 gp. However, there is a marketplace dirth of magical items at the moment in Bard's Gate. Such items are harder to find (+5 to the DC) and they are doubled in price. Your check is high enough that you manage to track down such an item, Dwarinn...however, it will now cost 400 gp because of the higher demand. If you still want it, you must spend an extra 300 gp. Sound good?
cool got it
Downtime actions Train for exp 400 gp Train in learning how to use the warhammer (had a week of training beforehand.) Mingle with nobles for a while
Sorry no time for down time actions took a little vacation with family. I just wanted to level up and get ready for our next adventure. So basically Hunter will be reflecting on his near death experience.
@Blue : Fairhill doesn't really have any nobles living there. Arlen is the closest to that, and he is a very minor noble. One night, while drinking in his company, Arlen tells you old rumors concerning the Dungeon of Graves. "We had a terrible time of it there. Lost three good men, and for what? Gold and glory? What good does gold and glory do when one is dead?" But then he laughs. "Still, there lies down in that endless pit so many wonders and legends, who can blame a band of foolhardy adventurers from climbing down into it? Like the White Corridor, said to be cursed: any who walk its length are lost forever. Or the great Goblin City, filled with hundreds (if not thousands!) of Orcus-worshipping goblins down in the Under Deeps. And then there are the Gates of Hell themselves: it is rumored that if one passes through a winding maze complex and swims through a warm pool of water, that dark place might be found. Bah! Rappan Athuk is an adventurer's paradise...and an adventurer's tomb." You have already spent 4 days training on using a warhammer in the past. With the current downtime, you are able to squeeze in another 10 days between your workweeks of training. So, you are at 14 total days of training on learning the warhammer. You need 56 more days to gain proficiency in it. Originally, I wrote: I'll allow you to train in learning how to use a warhammer, but it will take 10 workweeks (or 70 days total) and cost you 250 gp. You can pay the gold once you have spent 10 full workweeks training on it, and the workweeks need not be consecutive. Just keep track of how many you are doing over the coming months of in-game time. I have increased your XP totals in the Session Rewards handout. See below. Current Party Total : Ron has 17,556 XP. Stan has 16,069 XP. Byron has 16,001 XP. Blue has 14,190 XP. And Mal has 13,944 XP.
@Dwarinn : During that last downtime, you found the following magic items for sale. Spell Scroll (True Seeing; 6th Level) - 25,000 gp Nolzur's Marvelous Pigments - 150,000 gp Unfortunately, both items are beyond your fiscal means.
well that aint no good. LOL
Eid'rey has been training for the past few weeks and learning herbs.
