Introduction Now I know what you're thinking. This seems a bit on the weirder side of LFG posts. I know, it's odd. But please, do hear me out first. Lemme put it this in a way that makes sense. I am looking for a DM (and possibly a group of players that are interested following suit) willing to run a campaign using the Forgotten Realms setting (preferably during the present time of D&D 5th Edition), the races, and possibly optional rules, from Pathfinder as well as everything else in the Final Fantasy d20 system (DMs, I highly recommend looking it up and seeing if it's for you to try and run for other players). I know it sounds like a lot to consider but after looking through the system, it kinda feels like a cool experiment. Story Obviously, the story is up to the DM to decide. However, I wanna stress that any plots from existing D&D 5th Edition modules should NOT be the main focus of the story. Sure, any story beats from them can be elements within it, but I prefer a fully original, overarching plot that doesn't rely solely on any D&D modules as the story. An overarching story that puts the party at the forefront of its focus as they are the ones that drive the story forward. However, I would prefer not being limited in how character backstories can be set up. Having the party come from all walks of life instead of all of them growing up in one place feels more open ended in my opinion. This is kinda expected to be a campaign done in voice, so Discord would be used for that (if a DM has their own server and is interested in this, that makes this easier and less setup to get done in general). Expectations I don't have many but they are fairly big. I am preferably looking for a DM that takes a much more loose approach, someone who is not concerned about balance of mechanics but with a "balance of fun". Meaning, as long as everyone is having fun, that's all that matters. Must be willing to compromise and not create absurd restrictions in order to allow certain character concepts to be played. Minor adjustments to a character to make them work in the campaign, such as altering specific details for a character's backstory, are completely fine. Additionally, the DM should be willing to make certain concepts work if a player is adamant on what they want to do with them in particular or be willing to houserule certain things that don't sit right with them and go over them with the players. All in all, any overly strict DMs that can't abide by any of these guidelines should search elsewhere, for the sake of any players that join. I have had a bad experience with a DM that gave severe pushback to me and other players I was gonna play with for absurd and (possibly) senile reasons, and I want to ensure something like that never sucks the fun out of any campaign I'm in ever again. As an optional thing, if a DM livestreams his campaigns at all, I would love to have this campaign documented in a similar fashion just to immortalize it, assuming it goes well and things don't fall apart for dumb reasons. Including myself, I think a maximum of 4-5 players would be preferable. Gives everyone plenty of chances to be in the spotlight. However, I am not against going a little beyond that number if a DM feels as though they can handle 6 or 7 at a time. Level can be whatever works for the DM as well as the story in question. My timezone is EST, so I use that as my timeframe for my availability. I am primarily free on Thursdays, as it's one day I have yet to properly fill up with a campaign so far (subject to change within the next week or so), but I am also free usually on certain days in the afternoon such as Monday, Friday, and Sunday for example. I figure that's a decent amount of different time placements to hopefully find a decent group (anything during the afternoon in my time might work well for any EU people). If I wasn't clear, I also want this to be a weekly game as well. I know I'm asking for a lot here but it's an idea that I feel like would be cool (especially since FFd20 system is honestly very cool and gives me way more ideas than Pathfinder alone). Days and times are negotiable, and a flexible schedule by the DM is preferred. The chosen DM must also have a consistent schedule (emergencies happen though). I think that's everything. Hopefully this isn't too outlandish that anyone would be pushed away from the idea. Please, by all accounts, feel free to ask any questions if you have any. It might seem I'm being fairly restrictive in what I wanna do but this is mostly an experiment to see if this works. I have been wanting to get back into the Forgotten Realms for a long time. And now I wanna try a different approach then hoping to find any 5e campaigns using that setting that'll take me in (haven't had much luck). I will edit this post in regards to any updates to my availability, depending on how my latest search for a FR campaign is going. Hope to hear from some cool people soon! :)
