[LFP][LFDM][Free][D&D5e][Sat][6-10pm][EST] Looking for Players and another DM/Player

Looking for Players and another DM/Player Hi! A new group is forming for weekly D&D(5e) games (Roll20/Discord) on Saturdays at 6pm (EST) and we need Players and another DM/Player. We will be a group of 4-6 Players, consisting of at least 2 DMs. Ideally, there would be more than one member who is willing to DM so the DMs can rotate in/out occasionally. This way everyone gets to play as a Player (no forever DMs here), which should help mitigate DM burnout. This means that there could be two different games, run by two different DMs, that switch out every so often (natural break in the story, DM gets tired of running, etc.). You would have two different characters, for two different games, run by two different DMs. Make sense? Just think, you could get 2 games for the low, low, price of FREE. My Experience: I have 15+ years of TTRPG experience, although mostly in 1st & 2nd ed. and many years ago. For the last 4+ years I've been playing 5e and gaming on Roll20, almost exclusively as DM.  I have an old-school influence and tend to run games that challenge both the Player and the Character. Creatures will use tactics according to their abilities in a living world with natural consequences. I invest heavily in my games, spending a good amount of effort setting up encounters, weaving story lines, making custom handouts, and setting up killer themed soundtracks. As a Player, I strive to be creative, collaborative, and supportive; I will bite the DM’s plot hooks and engage with the other Characters.   New and gently used players are encouraged to apply. Please apply using the format below and briefly answer the following questions: Name: Age: Preferred Pronouns: Time Zone:   What is your experience with TTRPGs and Roll20? For group longevity and game variety, we may rotate DMs and Games. How do you feel about this? Do you have any interest in DMing in the future? How do you feel about character death? What do you expect from the DM? What do you expect from the other players? What do you bring to the table? What types of characters do you like to play and why? What kind of players do you prefer to play with? What is a good and bad experience with D&D that you've had or heard about? What would you like to do or experience in your D&D game? Comments? Thanks!
For future reference:  Yes, you may also send me a private message if you'd rather apply that way.
A "Thank You" to those who have applied already. We are still looking for a couple of Players, especially one who would be willing to DM/GM at some point. Thanks and Good Luck! ~Sherlock
Name: Kylun Age: 23 Preferred Pronouns: Call me whatever Time Zone: EST   What is your experience with TTRPGs and Roll20? I have a ton of experience as a DM across multiple D20 Game Systems(D&D 2nd edition - 5e, Starfinder/Pathfinder, Star Wars Saga Edition) but a lot less experience as a player! For group longevity and game variety, we may rotate DMs and Games. How do you feel about this? Entirely open to the idea. I have yet to play in a campaign with rotating DMs. Do you have any interest in DMing in the future? Yeah, that could definitely be in the cards. Excited to see the party make up. How do you feel about character death? As of late I have been DM’ing folk who have little to no TTRPG experience, so Character Death has been a touchy subject in some of my campaigns but i’m entirely all for it, the story and experience is the most important to me so as long as neither are dampened by a character death than all is well. What do you expect from the DM? I’m not personally one to hammer home on rules, and i’m very understanding of the struggles of preparing whole campaigns and having to deal with conflicting schedules. I don’t really have many expectations for the DM outside of wanting to make certain the DM is also having a great time playing.  What do you expect from the other players? Not a thing, all groups are different. What do you bring to the table? Flexibility and Understanding from a DM perspective. In given scenarios, i’ve noticed certain campaigns get derailed by player choices & going into this as a player, I could probably be beneficial in the aspect of pacing and moving the party along when things start to drag, etc… What types of characters do you like to play and why?  I’ve played a good variety of characters whether they be an NPC in a game i’ve ran or in the few campaigns i’ve taken on as a player. I have no aspirations to make any certain type of character and have complete flexibility there. I generally prefer characters who prioritize RP as opposed to combat. What kind of players do you prefer to play with? People who enjoy a good story and enjoy tabletop games with other folks no matter the experience level. What is a good and bad experience with D&D that you've had or heard about? Scheduling is generally always the BIG BAD of most campaigns i’ve been a part of. One of my favorite campaigns i’ve been a part of was a Roll20 Pathfinder campaign I DM’d. What would you like to do or experience in your D&D game? Entirely open-minded, let’s roll some dice! Comments? I know that the game would be planned for 6pm on Saturdays. I get off of work @ 5pm EST on Saturdays so start time should work out just about right.
Name: Kaylie (weird name for a guy, so I prefer Cletus) Age:18 Preferred Pronouns: he/him Time Zone: EST   What is your experience with TTRPGs and Roll20? I only have experience playing DnD 5e and I am fluent in using Roll20, I have about a year in game experience, but I pick up things very quickly. For group longevity and game variety, we may rotate DMs and Games. How do you feel about this? Sounds like a breath of fresh air, perfectly fine with it. Do you have any interest in DMing in the future? I'm planning a campaign of my own right now, and would likely not have the time to be running 2 at once. How do you feel about character death? Really depends on the context, nobody wants their characters to die, of course I'd be upset, but as long as it was fair, it's fine with me. What do you expect from the DM? I suppose I expect the DM to fair to players, such as rewarding them for creativity, and making combat balanced between challenge and fairness. What do you expect from the other players? I expect the other players to respect one another including myself, and to not start unnecessary conflict between player. What do you bring to the table? Although roleplaying is not a strong suit of mine, I believe I am more than capable in combat, and I strategize well with other players. What types of characters do you like to play and why? I love playing clerics and paladins, be able to heal your friends just feels good to me, it also makes me feel like I'm necessary to the party, lots of fun. What kind of players do you prefer to play with? I prefer playing with those who give me opportunities to roleplay with them, not just giving me space to talk, but talking to my character directly, those conversations are always fun to me, however, this is not something that needs to happen for me to have fun. What is a good and bad experience with D&D that you've had or heard about? A good experience I had, was when I was playing and one of the players had to drop out of the campaign I was playing in due to life getting in the way, the DM gave us a way to close out his characters story, which was him finding his daughter. We ended up defending his hometown from a group of evil church followers. Still to this day my favorite dnd moment. A bad experience happened quite recently actually, I joined a campaign with my brother, and we played about two sessions before realizing the other players were cheating and spotlight hogging, the latest session, my brother and I split off to investigate a small room, where we thought would be some treasure, which there was, no enemies, just some loot, and while we were doing that the other players decided to go further into the dungeon without us, expecting combat under the excuse "That's what my character would do". We've left that campaign since. What would you like to do or experience in your D&D game? I'd love to experience a character story of my own while playing, just sounds like a lot of fun. Comments? My brother would also like to join this campaign with me, he's 24 and has way more experience than I do with DnD and taught me how to play. We live together as well so if he joins too, you can expect us both to show up on time for every session.
