Enter the World of Greyhawk like it was meant to be    I am Black Falcon, a Dungeom Master with over 40 years of experience.  I started playing at the age of 8 with the red box Basic edition.  I have decided to go back to old school, though I love 5E, my true passion is during the years that I DMed 2E.  The World of Greyhawk is meant to be played during that time table and although it is great that people are translating the old modules to 5e - you miss the true element of what 2E brought - DANGER.  Yes your character can actually die and die quickly.     We will be focusing our campaign in the Viscount of Verbobonc and more specifically a sleeping border province nestled near the Gnarley Forest, Kron Hills, and Celene to the south.  Your characters will start at 1st level and will be either born there or have moved within the region for some time.  You know of some of the history, lore, and people of the area.  The adventure is meant to be a combination of role-playing, intrigue, combat, and story telling Dynamic Campaign   One of the important elements of the campaign is that it is dynamic and not static.  For those who have not played in this type of campaign - the world actually changes and shifts around you based on your group's actions or inactions.  In fact, time is important.  There will be weather effects, political changes, evil plots, etc.  Where you might have cleaned out a goblin tribe - another humanoid group might have taken over.  The campaign is realistic and isn't some type of "spawning" adventure.  i spend quite a bit of time between play deciding on what changes you have made and have already created a template for that.  Also - as your group progresses - so does the enemy, they realize that you are becoming more and more of a threat.  I tell you this in advance, to give you warning - your actions have consequences both bad and good. My World of Greyhawk: The campaign is based in the time period of 579 CY, 10 years after the Battle of Emridy Meadows and 3 years before the great wars.  I have created weapons, armor, technology, and customs based on large regions of Greyhawk.  Each country has their own standard weapons and armor.  Therefore, the weapon and armor list is specific and only those things available are in game.  Greyhawk is a living breathing place that I have campaigned in for over 30 years.  The object is to give it that feeling to my players. Services The game session will be roughly 4 to 5 hours.   I am not responsible for people cross talking or taking up time that should be used in the game - I expect the group to self monitor themselves The sessions will be weekly, unless I am travelling and need to cancel.   I will not charge for session 0 or for other "prep" sessions that may come out of the campaign. I reserve the right to end someone's adventure if they are disrespectful to either myself or other players.  You will not be refunded for past play. Why Pay Custom Campaign based on T1-T4 and B2:  This campaign is the work of years of work Dynamic World :  I am constantly tweaking the world based on your sessions Custom Character Sheet:  I have spent over 200 hours creating a custom character sheet for this 2E campaign. Art Work:  I have paid over $600 worth of artwork and worked on finding and utilizing maps Experience:  There are very few DMs with my level of experience and professionalism.   Respect - When you pay for a campaign, you are all here for the same reason; to play. You can be rest assured that players will be reliable and respectful of each others time due to the monetary commitment. Character Creation and Allowed Content You can choose a Pre-generated character that already has all everything needed to immediately play including backstory and full immersion into the campaign If you choose to play a custom character - it is essential you attend the Session 0, otherwise you will need to pick a Pre-Gen character until we have a break point in the campaign - usually after 8 sessions. Custom Creation will use the base races, classes, kits, proficiencies that have been listed in the campaign.  There is a macro that allows you to roll your ability scores You gain maximum HP at 1st level You gain the standard equipment amount in the 2E player's handbook and must purchase from the equipment, weapons, and armor list in the campaign. Please send me your backstory, if you are unfamiliar with Greyhawk - give me some bullet points and I will assist in creating one. I use the 5E rules for Personality, Bond, Ethics, and Flaws.  You also need a motivation or Agenda or Obligation... Game Rules and Style Gaming is a TEAM effort and I look for the players to add content and value to the campaign as much as possible.   I listen to all objectives and play fairly.  I do not try to cheat, win, abuse, or argue with my players.  Once I make a decision - it is done.  I am for the quality of the adventure. Everyone must have a microphone and I will use Roll20 Voice or Discord, based on the group decision.  Video is good as well but not required. I am a firm believer in Ammunition, consumables, and encumbrance.  I don't want to bog the game down but the character sheets make it easy TPK:  I will do my best to warn you of a possible TPK situations through the common DM phrases:  "Are you sure?".  I will only warn once.  TPKs happen in 2E more often than 5E.  I strongly encourage you have a back up character waiting. Custom Rules:  I have changed some of the rules and they are all listed in the campaign.  I will be also keeping a "House Rules" that the group decides on as well. Player Roles:  I am a firm believer in player roles such as mapper, Caller, Notekeeper, etc.  I expect all to keep notes but there is usually someone whose main job is to keep track of them for the group.  This is all decided in Session 0. Off Time:  There will be off-time in the campaign where you can learn and do additional things outside the normal campaign.  This down time is critical for leveling up, gaining proficiencies, and learning new spells. Rules Professionalism:   I expect the players to act professional.  If they are about to have a PVP moment they should announce that prior to yelling at another player.  In Session 0 we will go over the guidelines and make sure everyone is ok with the style of gameplay. Respectful:  I have one rule about myself - please be respectful.  The amount of time and energy is not worth the $5 you are playing per session, but is greatly appreciated.  Please understand that I am working toward making the game great for everyone.   Pay Before you Play:   You don't pay - You don't play. Absence require notification at least one hour before play.  More if possible.  Please try not to be late - we will start on time. Warning:  I will provide a single warning if you are not professional, disrespectful, or causing issues with the enjoyment of others.  After that warning, you will be kicked from that session and we will have an off-line discussion.  It is up to you from that point whether you want to continue to play.  If it happens a second time you will be banned. Anyone that is being completely out of control, threatening, bullying, harrasment etc. will be immediately banned. You have been warned.
