Drow 5th edition 1 Shot

Hey all, I've been trying to set up for a longer term 5th edition game, but want to see how people respond to some conversions and updates to make the Underdark deadly but playable in the 5th edition world without a slew of magical artifacts to help them. So I want to run a trial one-shot of a Post Sundering Prison Breaks for Drow Heretics, so basically any drow worshiping a Deity other than Lolth ( http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Seldari... after Lolth killed the rest of the pantheon putting those known affiliates in prison/slave camps for over a hundred years and now with the events of the Spell Plague Ending Wizards and Clerics locked up in prison all of a sudden have their powers return with the Weave. Using the Basic or Alpha Leak rules roll up a 5th level Drow (Drow are an elf subtype with +1 cha, 120 foot darkvision, disadvantage in bright-light on Perception/investigation checks and have at level 5 the spell like abilities for Dancing Lights/Faerie Fire/Darkness)

I'd love to join in on this. Never really played in the Forgotten Realms setting as far as D&D goes(not that this is in it since we don't have the CS book yet). But I love Drow, mostly because of RA Salvatore and his books. Couple questions first though 1) I don't think you have a playtime/date set yet but encase you do, what are they? 2) I may need some background info if it matters. I'm behind on my reading, and the only real Forgotten Realms author I read is Salvatore like I said, and well I'm still in Neverwinter, So I know what happened with the Spell Plague(mostly, its been awhile so I'm fuzzy on the details) but have no idea about the sundering 3) Character Gen, just first level? Or do you want us higher? Opps, missed where you said that till I looked back up...So I guess I'll ask this instead "Any other restrictions on character gen, for example, would you allow a cleric of Mielikki? Not that I plan on making that, just want to know for posterity Side note there is some new 3rd party(or maybe pathfinder) book out that's all about the Underdark, its something that you can vote for on that thing Roll20 was asking us to vote for them on, so that might be helpfull. And unless something changed I always thought the Underdark was playable, difficult, but playable as long as you where smart about it....and got lucky with finding good shelter/water
The timezone I live in is EST(EDT) and after 4 Weekdays or Sundays are fine for me. I am not really versed on the realms since the 3.0 Campaign setting and the general knowledge, I just used those mega events as excuses to run a one shot during times of turmoil. The only things I really know or care to use setting wise is that magic got changed for 4th edition, and then as 5th edition hits magic reverts, so a bunch of spell casters in prison can suddenly cast spells again after being powerless for years. Character gen would be 4d6 drop lowest I don't like Pointbuy, and stats top out in 5th edition so having an 18 doesn't matter much. I would want the characters to be 5th level, so they are on their own qualified Wizards/Fighters/Rogues instead of just starting out adventurers killing rats. The way I look at Underdark as a wild area is that is legitimately dangerous forced choices. You are forced into going down tunnels A B or C and there is no running, Tunnel A used to b known for having swampy water that goes up to thighs, Tunnel B is notorious for Goblins and Fire Elementals, and Tunnel C is guarded by Drow Patrols. There isn't an open world to just Go East in, or a town to rest at, you move from one dangerous area to another, making choices that could lead you into an inescapable situation every step of the way.
Depending on the day/ time, I might be interested.
I am interested. I know most of the history and I love drow Sundays would work for me.
I too am interested, depending on Day/time.

Sunday or Weekday after 5pm works for me, really after 7 would be best so dinner isn't interrupting anything(I'm also in EST/EDT). I also have the Alpha Leak from a friend if anyone wants it. PM me and I'll get you the link. Anyway. I'm making a Duel-Wielding Fighter, with the Eldrich Knight archetype. I might multi-class him into Ranger or Rogue for a level to see if I can't pick up some proficiencies or other useful stuff(ranger preferred terrain I'm looking at you....). I'll post or PM you the sheet sometime today Jester, but for now I've got a yard to mow and other chores.... EDIT Should we actually bother picking out equipment since this is a prison break? Or do you want us to as in case we find the armory and get to chose whatever we want? Also the EXP/Level tables are different between the Alpha an the Basic Rules...I went with the Basic Ruels table since it's actually "Official"
I too would be interested. Tues-Thursday, after 6 or 7 PM EST would work best. Sunday could work, but it's hit or miss pending if we are traveling that weekend.
Well here's my sheet. Don't really like the look and feel of it. But that's why it's in alpha on mythweavers.... http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=7791
Good sheet, although don't see how Passive perception amounts to 14 with a 12 wisdom. Does Wednesday 7PM EST Work for people?
Proficiency with perception(for being an elf). So 10+1(wis mod)+3(proficiency bonus). At least that was my understanding of it, it said to add all modifiers that would normally apply to the check. Its on page 130 something in the alpha, and under the skills section of the Basic Rules, what ever page that is.
Ah, right elf. Odd that drow get a proficiency and disadvantage in the same skill, makes sense I guess. Here's the LFG Posting: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/15983/nowhere-to-run
Can I participate and by that I mean can I sit by the hypothetical table and watch so I can get a better grasp on the art of table top gaming?

Long term or short term campaign? How long every night? 3 hours? 4?

Bryan K. said: Long term or short term campaign? How long every night? 3 hours? 4? Um.....it says in the title that its a oneshot, he then says in his post that its a oneshot, that he might expand into a larger game later, he's using the oneshot game to test conversions and updates.
It's a 1 shot, and no Jose I am not willing to put others in an awkward lab rat scenario. I could see this lasting 4 hours, Around the 3:45 Mark it would hit a giant Red light of sped up adventure ending.
Hmm so far only two applicants. I'd like 4. So I'm going to bump.
Maybe PM some of the people that where interested? they might not have followed the topic so they wouldn't have gotten notifications...but that might be overkill....
I can't make the Wednesday Timeslot, so i was bumped out.
7PM is too late of a start (to go 4 hours for me), I would like to be done by 10PM.
